Just out of interest who (like myself) has decided not to enter the new stadium until our wonderful QPR FC play there.
I have a particular interest in wembley as I did my degree dissertation on wembley and even then didn't enter the stadium. Subject - was re-building wembley stadium a success?
It's been a mental thing turning down tickets for bands pop concerts (that was my choice) England games. I just wanted the first time to be seeing the club I love... Let's hope we do it!

Went to the old one loads of times over the years, including the 2 games in '82 and the awful experience of '86. Was always hoping that the 1st time I visited the new Wembley was to see QPR and that is going to be the case. Makes it extra special I guess. |  |

Went to the old wembley loads, first time in 1978 for a home international against wales with the school, the crowd was about 30000, went in 82 and 86 but also went to the simod cup final in 88 just to abuse the late les sealey and there was nothing else to do that day, loads of England friendlys, most of the 1990 World Cup qualifiers, my last time there was on a freebie for the 1993 FA cup final, haven't been to the new one yet as I was also waiting for Qpr to get there first, now I can't wait. |  |

last memory of Wembley was trudging out in 86.

Forgot to add that the old wemey is the only stadium I have been ejected from, went to two concerts there the first was wham(got tickets for a new girlfriend to impress her honest) the second was U2 in 88 for the Joshua tree tour, tickets were rarer than rocking horse shite, got in early and drank and drank and drank, fell asleep on some blokes foot before chucking up and ending up in first aid before being escorted out, was home in bed before U2 even got on stage. | |

Yeah first time for me too. Was always going to wait for Rangers as England don't do much for me these days and it's a horrible trek over there for games which normally end at an unholy hour and involve a queue at the station afterwards and presumably a struggle to get home. It sounds as if food and drink is horrible and expensive - presumably the FA have to rip you off to pay for it all, but they won't do it to me. I went to the old Wembley dozens and dozens of times, hundreds if you count greyhound racing, but there's been something about the new one that I don't much like, without ever having been there. Having said that I'm excited about going on Saturday for the first time. |  | | |
