The club have acquired strategic land interests on the main development ? Reads to me that we have bought up some land which may scupper any other plans for development

This development won't be the high end housing estate the club envisages nasty part of London and I wouldn't fancy lying there that's for sure ( and I used to live near by by the way )

This could be the patch of Social Housing / Key Worker / Affordable Housing that Planners will demand as a percentage of any "luxury development"

A continually thickening plot.... nothing will happen for 5 years though I reckon

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

That my friend would just be the opening gambit. As I mentioned on another board a couple of years ago....Rangers were going in for land in this part of the Common. My information taken from the Chelsea S/T holders who own a lot of the abutting property. When I'm in town next month I'll see if they have any update on the offers.

It will make a larger development more difficult as I would guess the entry and exit from the larger estate would want to be sited through this site , so we could effectively block the bigger development by Not allowing the, access which would be needed

Interesting that the Malaysian shareholders formed Rangers Developments a while ago as a vehicle for this sort of thing, yet this new project is via Rangers Holdings Limited, which seems to indicate that the Mittals wish to be involved and that certainly beefs up the financial clout on offer.

That's the old railway social club. had a few good sessions in there.

Nasty part of London? I'd say a massive section of our support comes from within a square mile of there, what sort of comment is that?

Isn't that what regeneration means?

Turning nasty places desirable?

Really good strategic move by the club. A sensible planning approach, new housing and most importantly "real" money on the table. What caught my eye is the proposed new link road which is proposed to drive into the heart of the re-generation project. The stadium will be a pivotal part.

Raymond Chandler spent his teenage years in Upper Norwood (Borough of Croydon) when the family left Chicago after his alcoholic dad abandoned them. His first novel was called The Big Sleep, so it's highly likely he watched Crystal Palace play at Selhurst Park.

Maybe this gives access to the area where they want to build the stadium and undermines Car Giant's plotting...

It's the equivalent of owning the shack that blocks the billionaire's house from the view.

what ever they build wont be the high end type of development they want , its being used as a blocking excercise , we build this and gain the second major access point of a much larger development , for the new development to happen this second access point is going to become a huge part of it , so it would give the club some leverage on the second development if that ever was to happen.
