The interview was an absolute Redknapp tour de force.
He did indeed say "All I do, all I've always done, is tell the truth". He then said that it was exactly the same Birmingham team which won two out of 25 games last season under a "fantastic manager, in my opinion, Gianfranco Zola". Quite apart from the Zola bolox, and the fact that Rowett had this team in seventh, it's not true - he's already signed half a dozen players at some expense this summer.
When the interviewer then said "if you get the three or four you want, Birmingham will have signed more players this summer than any other Championship club" he got his back up and said Wolves have got an entirely new starting 11 since May - also not true. | | | |
