....ever played for QPR. I'm afraid to admit this has happened to me on a number of occasions, thought it might be senile dementia, but it's nothing more than sitting at the back of the class and falling asleep.

Serge Branco?

Spot on! If we'd gone after a silver medallist from that tournament, we might have got Xavi or Puyol.

I was at that one and you're absolutely correct, had no recollection of him being on the field.

I was at that game too. No recollection of Mr Viljoen either. We lost that game 4-2 if it was the same game in question and my memory is correct. Anyway it was only a friendly.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

Warren Barton - I saw him play in our league match at Peterborough. He went from good to awful in the blink of an eye. Mind you, that explains why the Toon Army used to call him "Twins".

What about Tofas? Anyone ever see him play? One game!

I was there too. Callum Willock was also f***ing terrible in that game, but fortunately he was playing against us by then.

Shabazz Baidoo, Shabazz Baidoo, he'll score goals all over the pitch... barely as good as Spotty Muldoon and less well remembered. LOL

i was at Scunthorpe when Rob Hulse scored, we then promptly lost 4-1.

So was I Ted, so was I!

Thinking back, we should have known how the match would end when it was Hulse who put us in front!

The problem with him though, is that I will never forget him "playing" for us!

Mary Peters?

Indeed Ms Peters has been to Loftus Rd, chatted to the woman as we walked down the South Africa Rd heading to the McGuigan fight in '85.

Terry McQuade? Seth Vafiadis? Dick Whittaker? Malcolm Graham? Pat Brady? Ray Brady ?.....1962, 1963, 64. Truly shockingly awful players ........ but such a lot of fun to watch along with Brian Bedford scoring off every part of his body but his feet.

Beam me back to the three bob terracing please.

They were the days.....I think Seth's dad ran the barbershop at the Savoy roundabout before the area was smashed to hell to build the new road junction. They also demolished loads of houses and the Western pub to build a slip road which never saw the light of day. What a waste.

Anyone recall Richard Teale? Understudy to Phil Parkes, name on the programme, no idea what he looked like, was around for a couple of seasons and I don't think he ever got a game. May have signed him from Fulham, no idea who / where he trotted off to.

Almost right Bos. That well known bastion of accuracy Wiki, says we sold him to Fulham and signed him from Walton & Hersham. He went from Fulham to play for Wimbledon in their first season in the Football League. Wiki also says he donned the green jersey in anger once for us.

Checking the excellent seasonal stats files on Ron Norris's qprnet.com site reveals he played in a home game against Birmingham in September 1974.

Intresting article from the IndyRs site mentioning Teale and a few other early 70s fringe players.

Lol I was there that day too, 85-86 2-0 defeat don't remember us having a shot as was the custom in most away games from 84-85 to 86-87
Funniest thing was they gave us the whole Platt lane end (benches) which held 9,700 and about 4,000 worth of terrace on the Kippax. I think we had about 150 on the terrace and 250 in the seats. Took loads more in 86-87 for the 0-0...at least 550ish lol

On topic...
