I think Holloway's keen not to have any of those terrible 6 game losing runs again like last year which is why we haven't seen much departure from the 3-5-2 because it sort of mostly works in that we aren't going to get relegated
when we're actually safe I reckon we might start seeing some more tombola. but I won't mind because I reckon other formations would compliment us a lot more against poorer sides.

We're not even in the bottom three on away games only, remarkably.
We've gained points on all the teams below over the last six games and on all over the last ten except Bolton and Birmingham, who we're level with on 14 points each. We've won our last four games against teams below and have only lost once to a team below (Forest) all season.
Given all that it would be quite a feat to screw it up from here.

I'd say the teams below us have all had little bubbles of form but none have been sustained and they are probably past any sudden big improvements in form now and the table won't change much between now and the final day. Not that I'm 100% certain but definitely less nervous that I have been in other similar seasons.

Any discussion about relegation tonight is nonsence. Yes we could be sucked in if we had a shocking run but I see very little to suggest that will happen. Our form over 32 games is roughly a win, a draw and a loss every three games. There’s no evidence that we’ll suddenly go on a 6 or 7 game loosing run and our fixtures don’t suggest they either.
To get relegated teams like Barnsley or Hull will need at least 7 wins and a few draws from the 14/15 games they have left. When you consider they have 6 wins all season each that looks a very tall order! I don’t see Barnsley getting 50 points...
We are absolutely not going to get relegated from here.
But let's not get too excited about today. The Beeb report described us as 'deserved' winners and that we were the 'stronger side' in the first half. But don't get too excited: this is against a club who's season performance has been nailed-on relegation formâ„¢. For us to get two unanswered goals at home against this side after they are down to ten men is not exactly the stuff of legend.
It was a reasonably decent, certainly adequate, result. That's all.
I can see us winning 4 or 5, including another away win. At home, we've still got Forest, Sunderland, Wednesday and Brum, all of whom are below us. Virtually no chance of relegation.
The fun will be seeing how the youngsters start to get included.

Of course, I’d like if we could maintain a steady points accumulation between now and the end of the season, which might allow us to really give the young ‘uns a run out free of the fear of relegation. In effect, starting the pre-season after we’re safe with five or six to go would be peachy.

we were on 37 points, in 16th place after 32 fixtures last season and secured safety in the second to last match of the season
i think we're fine, but i wouldn't be surprised if we got sucked back in

Gladwin was sold iN January months before that losing run. I don't think he played Doughty too often either.
Holloway changed the tactics round most games and tried out a few different players like Morison and Petresso but really we just had a run where we played teams like Derby, Villa, Sheff Wed, brentford and Brighton who were better than us and before we knew it we were in trouble
