That was brilliant. Sterling comes across as a really genuine fella.

Thanks for sharing that Baz - I'd never have clocked it otherwise.

Brilliant piece.

Piers Morgan and his like can get f*cked.

That his daughter runs like him is the least surprising revelation ever

Nice piece. I've been really hoping he sticks it up his critics this world cup. Not looking great so far, but fingers crossed.

Good article.

But he still needs to be dropped for the Panama game...

Agreed, the press in our country are just c...s! We say them build up and work to destroy Gazza and many others.

How someone as odious as Piers Morgan gets airtime is scandalous.

My advice: don't buy these rags, watch or listen to tosspots!!

Disagree. It's a great chance to get him scoring and build his confidence.

Agree with that, although if he's on the bench (as appears likely) he'll probably come on against a tired Panama defence, which should really be a good opportunity for him.

Would like to see him finish his career at QPR. I think that would be a good end to the story. Obviously he has got a lot more years at the top to come first. Hope he gets a few goals in this World Cup too.

I'd like that to happen, but how many more chances does Sterling get?

Rashford is champing at the bit and, on current England form, much more likely to contribute generally - and, in particular, to score.

With all that personal sh*te the red-top rags have been putting out, maybe Sterling's head is simply not in the right place to fully focus on his game.

It's a great rags to riches story but it could be even better if he started performing in an England shirt.

Smegma why do you think his goals/games ratio general performance is worse for England than at Liverpool/man City?

Do you think it is to do with the positionhe's played, the quality of players around him or something to do with his effort levels, attitude etc?

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

At city he's surrounded by some of the best players in Europe, not so much in the England team. So it's partly that BUT he never plays well for England. His two latest 'performances' for England was against Nigeria and Tunisia, hardly world beaters yet he failed to beat his marker once in both games.

I hope he turns it on against Panama, if picked of course. I want England to win every game in this tournament as I do every two years,

Replace "Harlesden" with ""Merseyside" in that rags to riches story and you've got an entire England squad to fail with.

we wouldn't need the rags to riches story, if he livened up and scored a few at the world cup.
many of us helped mum or dad out and didn't end up millionaire's.
