Does that mean we can get rid of Tennis?

If it does come home, I fully expect Farage, Johnson, Gove et al to demand a second referendum to see if we can backdate Brexit to 2010!!

How dare you sir ! Cricket is one of the last bastions of fair play and Englishness. I am reminded of the words of Sir Henry Newbolt.......the voice of the schoolboy rallied the ranks, “ play up and play the game.”

I’ll tell ya what will be great if it comes home....it’ll shut up West Ham.

The whole point of the football's coming home lyric was in reference to the Euro 96 tournament being hosted by England. It had nothing to do with winning it, indeed, the entire sentiment of the song is about not winning it.

‘Swing Low, Sweet Chariot’ was written by a freed blackman as an ol’ American spiritual, hasn’t stopped 80,000 rugger buggers regularly belting it out at Twickers!!

I wouldn’t worry about it...

For me thats not the whole point,

to quote robert plant "this is a song of hope'

and how is the reference to Nobby Dancing not about England winning the world cup?

The song reminisces on past glory and the hope that it might just happen again despite us being generally a bit crap

as a QPR supporter lucky enough to have seen us when we were awesome that resonates strongly
