Manchego

That's the take-away version.

"it's like Manchero, but it's Manche-Go!"

One of the all-time great re-brands.

Manchego? Meh. That basque sheep cheese ossau-irarty (spelling?) Is pretty awesome, but nothing beats parmigiano. Get a grip.

BTW, why is there a thing about cheese on this forum? How did it start?

Do I get banned if I admit, I thought this was the name of a possible signing to replace Sylla?

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Its just a bit of silliness that started as a way to defuse tension and help newbees integrate/feel at home.

Fourme d'ambert is where its at. THE pongiest of pongy fromages. It couldn't be any worse if you put garlic on it.

You mindreader, I was just about to post about that one! A wicked cheese, from the region of France where my aunt lives. Extremely flavoursome, a nuclear weapon of a cheese in a world of conventional offerings.

Ewes' milk cheese, from the French Pyrenees, is also tremendous, as is dolcelatte. Cantal - another French one, from the middle of the country - is excellent if you like Cheddar.

Mmmm, cheese...

Just bought some Manchero while out for lunch. (Tesco's mind!)

It sits patiently for me in my car.

Roll on 5pm!

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

I often visit a former work colleague who has renovated an 1812 barn 2km from Ambert. Lovely cheese and spectacular region.

As an aside from the cheese, watching episodes of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on Youtube is a real guilty pleasure of mine. Great entertainment!

Every Xmas I treat myself to 4oz of Gorgonzola Piccante and a nice S. Australian Shiraz.

The grass is always greener.
