Make that 155-4; very low bounce imo.

Too many England batsman playing one day and limited over shots in Test matches.

I don't know a lot about cricket just seems like common sense to me.

If we can get up to 280 then gives a chance unfortuently I just don't think our batsman have the courage to fight it out

Root really needs to step up and get a score on a difficult pitch

Thank God for the English rugby team. At least they try.

Guess what? They win.

Meanwhile. A shyte night.

QPR lose.

Naaaarch win.

England surrender to the Windies at cricket.

Why?

Because the teams I support can't be arsed because of the money involved. in just turning up

l watched all this down the West Norfolk Community Centre - with the piss taken out of me for being a QPR fan living in Naarfoock.

Have to say that Naaaarch looked very good tonight. They should piss the Championship.

Yet another Test match over in less than 3 days.

Joe Root on the final Test: "We go and make sure we put in a good performance and win that game. It's as simple as that.
"It's been disappointing with the bat here and last week so it's a great chance for us to right some wrongs and get guys going on and making some big totals."

He doesn't select the team , he selects the squad. Once they're on the plane it's out of his hands (like the 06-07 Ashes, when Panesar and Read were put in the squad and both ignored by Fletcher for his favourites Jones and Giles until it was too late.)

I still don't know what Joe Denly is doing in the squad at all, but selecting England openers is has been a job for the tombola for some time now, and that's not even a criticism, there isn't a decent one in the country so what can you do?

Stuffed again - outplayed in all respects, but 306 was a world class performance by the Windies on this pitch - worthy winners and what's more - good for the game. .

I think minimum is to start players in their proper order. Sticking non openers in to open for example, putting Bairstow in at 3, selecting 3 keepers, having part time spinners rather than positional specialists.

Also root is not captain material, the coaching staff don’t seem to be up to test level either. Some dramatic changes in personnel and approach needed.

Very naive to think Smith didn't want his funky pick of Sam Curran in the team and doesn't influence the final 11

I can't see Root wanting to drop Broad regardless what he says .

Test team has been sacrificed for the ODI team right down to the county scheduled favouring white ball cricket

Agree about Root. His game has gone backwards since the captaincy.

It did with Botham but not Gower so much. Gower had a couple of good series with the bat against India in India and Australia at home (in between a couple of black washes!) .

Although to be fair to Beefy, 9 of his 12 tests as captain were against Clive Lloyd's West Indies, one of the best teams of all time. It was a shame that both of them had the misfortune to start their captaincy against them.

They will almost certainly lose the third Test as well, because we have no batsmen who can deal with fast paced bowling. It's all very well smashing medium paced trundlers around the park in the IPL (for big money) and other white ball cricket but proper fast bowling is a different kettle of fish and requires application, defensive technique, patience and courage, which is something our batsmen sadly lack. Joe Root also seems not to understand the approach required for Test cricket; it's a five day game for a reason and occupying the crease for long periods of time is just as important as scoring runs and swishing away at balls outside the off stump is not the way to play. Unfortunately there are no quality English pace bowlers now - which is why we don't have batsmen who have the experience of playing against them and why we also struggled to bowl out the Windies for the kind of cheap scores we have been posting. Broad and Anderson are coming to the end of their careers and are not really fast bowlers in any case, the conditions in the Caribbean do not really suit them but we have no decent pace bowlers at Test level. Until these things are addressed I believe we will always struggle out there, particularly as now, and credit to them, the Windies have put a quality team together that is very good in their own conditions and well done to them, they have been excellent.

Another calypso collapso, after doing relatively well yesterday, lost 6 wickets for 45 runs today
At least the ball seems to be moving around, maybe jimmy can rip through them
