Team for Watford 08:11 - Feb 13 with 3890 viewskingsburyR

Proper solid team coming to play on Friday.

Not sure we have the staff to match them.

So is it Gung-Ho or The Bus?

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Exactly. You simply have to play Smith against a Prem side. He’s a weapon they won’t have had to defend against much, and, as Dave says, set pieces will be crucial for us.

As a result, Wells simply has to play a bit deeper and closer to the midfield, offering an option in to feet or down the channel.

Pav and Freeman are our most competent, experienced, and hardest working wingers (who know their defensive position the best), so they play wide. They’re also good crossers of the ball and have Thunderbosh Smith to aim at.

In central midfield, it’s Luongo and....???? Take your pick. I’d probably go Scowen at a push. But Cousins probably deserves it on recent appearances.

Back 4 of Bidwell Hall Leistner and Furlong.

Lumley in goal.

I’d tell Freeman and Pavel to tuck and work hard when they have it, and get really wide when we get it.

Wells is crucial. He needs to work hard. Luongo to press and get into them, Scowen/Cousins to barely venture more than 5 yards from in front of the centre halves...ever! We need that protection. Geoff would have been perfect.

Watford’s 2nd string is still comfortably Prem quality. They eased to victory away at Newcastle in the last round. But, their centre halves are small so a big man is key. You’d assume Deeney plays so you need to let Toni get stuck into him.

Deeney will play to bully our CB's.

Toni needs to step up to the plate!

we have to really have a go, we have little else to play for, let them worry about injuries etc, we can only control ourselves..and hope for a decent ref, our poor recent form is aside, this is the cup and anything is possible. balls to Watford. come on you rs
