Freeman to Norwich 09:15 - Apr 13 with 10781 viewsGloucs_R

From the same source as the Carvalhal Post. He's going to Norwich for £4.5m plus add ons. Can't say I believe either rumour but if he did go for that money then it must be a clause in his contract.

We’ll take the best offer out there, otherwise someone will get him for free, man.

Surely if there was a minimum fee then it would be a straight-up, one-off fee?

That being the case, then why would anyone offer £4.5m plus add-ons?

And why would Rangers accept it, when not contractually obliged to do so?

Not sure I buy this rumour.

First player Bobby Robson would sign, if the club didn't have one, was a dead ball specialist. Ian Harte had a whole career out of just being a player who could strike a dead ball - Larsson at Sunderland similar.

The consistency in quality of Freeman's dead ball delivery is incredible - I'd be very surprised if anyone in the league delivered his quality with, importantly, the consistency of the quality.

Except free kicks just outside the box - we haven't scored directly from one of those since Nbkoto v an (already beaten) Birmingham!

definitely have to disagree there mate. His corners are excellent.
On average, about 3 in 100 corners result in goals. We've had 175 corners this season. I didn't count all our corner goals earlier, but I think it's at least 8, possibly 10. That is MILES above the average. Miles.
People's expectation on corners is way, way too high. Freeman's corners consistently cause trouble, his free kicks from wide are even better. A few are not good, but generally fans under-appreciate how tough taking corners effectively is. It's a really tough skill. Especially a near post one like on Saturday - the margin for error is absolutely tiny. Very, very few of his corners are poor ones.

However, agree he should score more free kicks (although we so rarely seem to get them just outside the box these days), and that he apparently doesn't like taking pens. That is odd.

Yes, but can he hit the crossbar with every free kick like Akos could!

Ah, nothing gets me mistier-eyed than a mention of Akos.

Presumably a Penrice find for Ollie at Plymouth? More please.

Such a player. Remember him getting an absolutely awful QPR team a point at Scunthorpe one afternoon completely by himself. Without those injuries he'd have been a star in the Prem for us I reckon.

Now found on Hungarian television as a pundit for international football, I do Budapest with work early June every year so I get to look at his immaculate hair again.

Was it Faurlin or Derry's position NW had originally earmarked him for before he got injured start of the Champ-winning season? (I seem to recall something like that anyway). Interesting to imagine what that might've been like.

Was due to be Derry's position so we would have had a two in midfield of Faurlin and Buzsaky.

Wasn’t he also the provider of the through ball to Tommy Smith for our winner at Everton? Resplendent in the lovely orange kit 😃

He was at Plymouth before Ollie went there.

Freeman will go to Norwich in a deal that will see him sold initially to Birmingham who will use some of the money to offset their FFP fine by giving it to us. He will then be resold to Norwich in a deal that will see us also absorb Chelsea's transfer embargo and any related fine with us paying his wages, pension and Virgin Galactic holiday to the moon as well.

We love a good deal us!

Never knowingly right.

When I saw your post I thought no way was Akos playing he was around long before the Everton game,( which I was at). But you are right, I looked it up, others involved that day Agyemang, Danny Gabbidon, Petter Van Moen, Bruno Perone, Matt Connelly and Bruno Andrade whos doing well somewhere lower down the leagues. Time plays tricks on you

Im gazing with a smile on my face, of a signed picture on my wall of Tommy, after scoring the goal, with Phil Neville with his hands on his head. One of my favourite away games. You are also right it was a nice kit

Well he got an assist yesterday... not sure it helps the transfer value especially, most of his delivery yesterday was poor otherwise.

Well I have said it plenty of times on here already. Just because he is our best player doesn't mean he's worth what people on here are saying he's worth. To me, unless he is a stand performer every week and creates loads of chances there is not going to be top clubs looking to buy him which is where the high transfer fee would come from. I still can't see why Norwich would be interested. They're going up and there is going to be a number of similar or better quality players available to them.

He's clearly going somewhere because he's making sure he's not putting himself in a position to get injured at the moment.

Good luck to him been good value for 2 years
