Hasn't Nigel Farage got the record for most appearances on QT? And he threatened to pick up a rifle against those who didn't administer the Brexit he wanted, as well as allegedly chanting 'gas the jews' in his youth? They also had Nick Griffin on before. I don't think they adverse to Right wing views (not saying Danny Baker is RW of course).

I'm not trying to score political points here, because I do believe the BBC is influenced and bias i'm just saying I don't think this was the case here.

You’re right about Nick Griffin being a guest on Question Time, but he was only on there to be ridiculed.

If I remember rightly, it was a pure left wing leaning audience, and the whole shows topic was about him and the BNP. For the record, the man is a class A prìck. I’m not sticking up for him.

There were also mass demonstrations outside TV Centre in White City as the show was filmed there that week.

As for Nigel Farage being on Question Time, yes you’re right, he has been on a number of times. But he’s ‘the voice’ of Brexit. Without him, the leave vote wouldn’t have won.

I think the point is Brian that Baker was sacked by the BBC and Brand hasn't been.

I don't think Jo Brand works for the BBC as in has her own show, she was just a guest on a radio panel show so they can't really sack her, they could not invite her back on but that doesn't sound as exciting. That was the difference for Danny Baker as he was the host of a show

What she said was daft and really the producer should have edited it out but all seems a bit pathetic that the police are now involved

I don't think it was a left wing audience because they have strict selection rules apparently.

They were obviously the most vociferous, but lets be honest, the majority of people including Tories find /
found the BNP distasteful so who knows...

As for the protests, they were against the BBC for hosting him as much as against him personally.

And for balance no one one the Far Left (i.e. the Socialist Workers or Communist Party) has ever appeared on QT as far as iI know! I would love to see Ben Chako or someone on there.

Never found Jo Brand particularly funny at all and her latest attempt at a joke was in very poor taste especially given that there are a number of people living now with the effects of disfiguration as a result of acid attacks. I listened to a radio interview from one such person and what he has had to live through over the last two years both physically and mentally. Brand may not be employed by the BBC but that is where the vast majority of her appearances are aired and he income is generated from. In the week where a huge debate rumbled on about the TV licence and where it is clear that the likes of Brand get paid their chunk from those fees does make me question the continued validity of the BBC in its current form. And whatever the virtues of the Danny Baker v Jo Brand argument, without doubt Baker is a far more talented individual. And one final bit, the Have I Got News For You show that was delayed because of the Euro elections, correct me if I’m wrong was hosted by Brand, during which she took a swipe at Danny Baker. Oh the irony of it all.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview
