My 56-year-old brother has a new job, teaching Year 4 maths at our old Junior school - Malorees in Brondesbury Park. Has anyone else’s life turned full circle?

Congratulations to your brother. Being a sentimental idiot, I love that sort of thing. Lovely.

Not quite the same, but these days, I seem to be spending a lot of time reading Mr Men books, playing with Lego and playing football over the park. Which is pretty much what I was doing in the 1970's.

As a kid I was regularly taken from Berkshire to the east end to visit my Nan and aunties, uncles, cousins, I never would have dreamt that 45 years later I would be living and working here.

That's when he's at Nursery. When he gets home, I have to pretend I've been working all day. I'm eating a lot of fish fingers too.

My infant school was a small building diagonally opposite where the Rising Sun used to be on the Greenford Road in Sudbury.

I was living in Manila when at short notice, I had to drop everything and return to Greenford to look after my seriously ill mother. One day I’m walking past the old school and noticed it was now a language college and had a cafe attached. So I went inside for the first time in 40 years. Talk about memories flooding back, especially when I could stand and look out of the windows whereas back in the day, we needed to stand on chairs to look out of to see if our mums had arrived to pick us up.

When I got home, it prompted a wonderful long reminisce with the mother. Time has changed so much, but I do miss the simplicity of our lives back then.

Split up with my partner around 11 years ago after a 9 year relationship. Got back together towards the end of last year and still together (despite the occasional argument), think this is for the long innings now. I knew people at Malorees though late 40s .

I know several parents with kids at Malorees and I was honoured to present the Young Writers of Queen's Park Award to two very smart young lads from there at this year's QP book festival. It's a great school, I think your brother has found a good place to work.

No, but similar path. He spent decades comfortably bored in local government management before retraining about 50. He’s actually found it pretty hard.

Lucy Kellaway was a savage interviewer. She saw through Jimmy Savile decades ago and cut Terence Conrad into tiny pieces

The measurement of time rules our lives. Days, weeks years don’t actually exist. We revolve around the big fireball, that’s the full circle.
