The Irishman on 15:48 - Dec 4 with 936 views | BrianMcCarthy | I watched Heat the other week, coincidentally. Or maybe it was because of De Niro and Pacino being in my mind as The Irishman approached. It's a very good film, to be fair. Well paced, average plot, good characters and fine acting. The scene itself is heavily improvised with only the bones of a script being given to the two actors, and it would have been a bit flat except for the acting. De Niro is flawless in it and Pacino drops the hamming and plays it straight and it works for him. Fine performance.

The Irishman on 09:01 - Dec 4 by BazzaInTheLoft | Thought it was great. Only two criticisms I had is that De Niro looked about as Irish as the lead baton twirler at the head of a Orange order parade, and when he played the younger version of himself he looked like he’d used an embalmer not a make up artist 😆 |
Fair point re ethnicity given the current climate about race and gender acting roles. Not that I think it matters, it’s called acting for a reason. [Post edited 4 Dec 2019 15:52]

The Irishman on 21:53 - Dec 2 by thame_hoops | Everyone everywhere is recommending it! It wasn’t for me though, over 3 hours and I lost interest as it wasn’t a subject I’m interested in tbh but then again I didn’t like ‘once upon a time in Hollywood’ so what do I know Enjoy |
Exactly the same for me. watched both in 3 days. Once upon a time was an absolute tarantino vanity project that didnt do it for me. I didnt dislike The Irishman but i never felt any connection with any of the characters, its WAY WAY too long and at te end of the day, didnt really leave an impact on me.

The Irishman on 00:28 - Apr 4 with 577 views | ted_hendrix | Just watched it non stop, loved every minute of it including the soundtrack. Loved the scenery and those American vehicles, I got a passion for American history. Great actors you will probably never see acting together again.
