| Available squad as it stands 19:35 - Jan 30 with 3740 views | dannyblue | Kelly Lumley Barnes Kane Rangel Hall Cameron Barbet Masterson Wallace Manning Ball Amos Smith BOS Shodipo Chair Clarke Eze Pugh Hugill 18 outfield players. OK Cameron and Manning can play a couple positions, but I have to admit I think it's a bit light, and even more so if Smith goes. Not least because Barbet, Rangel, Cameron and Shodipo have all had injury issues, and we're kind of due an injury to one of our young stars who've steered well clear so far (touch wood). I'd like to see a striker and a midfielder added tomorrow if possible. Even if it's just recalls for Smyth and Hamalainen (freeing Manning to play in the middle if needed). | | | | |

Probably right.Possibly Trot Parrott in on loan so we have a second dedicated bigger striker if Hugill gets injured.

Realistically 2 wins and 3 draws from 17 games is likely to see us safe. Odds of 66/1 suggest that the bookies really don't see it happening. It's a weak squad, we will likely lose more than we win the rest of the year, but we are going to be fun to watch* for the rest of the year with (hopefully) a number of young, exciting players. I'm going to enjoy it rather than stressing out about an unlikely relegation, at least for the next couple of months. If we lose the next 7 on the bounce, fine, I'll panic. *Compared to literally every QPR squad since the Warnock/Adel season

Ya, me too. And it seems as if we are trying for a striker. Masterson for BFG. Scowen's minutes on the pitch were minimal anyway.

| Available squad as it stands on 22:32 - Jan 30 with 2310 views | WrightUp5hit___ | For all the howls of outrage, Leistner and Scowen were squad players, useful squad players but not starters. Both absolutely gave 100% on the pitch, but were not integral to the future of the club. Do have to agree with Clive that we have lost perhaps our only players capable of being a bit naughty. Malakar and Smith were very much on periphery of the squad, and two weeks ago people were calling for them to be sent back to their parent clubs. Yes, not happy about losing Wells, but I'm willing to accept the financial arguments about the situation. Of course even he was on rotation with Hughill. So overall, assuming we don't lose anymore tomorrow, we are left with the players that got us to our current glorious league position, needing not too many more points to feel safe. Perhaps even with the thinning of the squad giving the opportunity for some of our u23 or u18 squads the chance for a cameo. And who knows what tomorrow might bring. | | | |

Listener was hampering us as he was keeping masterson out of the team along with barbet. Mark my words. Forget samuel, eze and chair. Masterson if we develop him will be the one who brings in top money. I earmarked him ages ago when he was a sub in Liverpool's champions league squad. Can't believe we got him but we did. Can't believe it took so long for MW to play him. He's cpt of the ROI u20s. This boy is the real deal. Blessed to have him

MW put a competitive squad together on the back of free transfers and loans in the Summer. It’s done far better than anyone imagined and now we’re chucking anything that’s not nailed down overboard. The reason’s simple. Because of our unique circumstances we need Premier League money / parachute payments to compete but our shrewd businessmen owners blew it all, twice, and all but bankrupted us in the process. This cull isn’t part of some cunning master plan, we’re just absolutely skint.

This. We are completely skint so we have to use what we have and promote the youngsters that have come through the academy and come back from loan and this is their moment to show if they are good enough for next season. As DejR says, we have got 5 more players off the books and added one cheap loan. It says a lot about how much this club has to save to simply avoid more fines and losing points. We need 3-4 more wins to be safe. This squad can do that

| Available squad as it stands on 07:56 - Feb 1 with 1575 views | PlanetHonneywood | I think the club has reasoned that we’re ‘not’ going down and as a result, taken a calculated gamble on the basis of cutting costs to the bare bones. However, I’d like to see us get the points as soon as we can and then blood some kids to get game time when the pressure is off. | |

| Available squad as it stands on 08:04 - Feb 1 with 1558 views | Hastings_Hoops | The reasoning for reducing wages this month should be patently clear. We have three players which we will likely sell in the summer for a decent fee: Eze - tied into a contract, so should command top dollar already Bright - Needs to be offered and sign a big new contract to command top dollar Manning - Needs to be offered a new contract to command top dollar Offloading Leistner, Scowen and the loans this window frees up £50k+ a week of salary for a new contract for BOS and Manning which is the difference in the summer between selling for £5m or selling for £20m. | | | |

I think you’re right. With our tight budget we need to move a few out to distribute funds towards players who are now our priorities. Who should be top earner, Leistner or Eze, we know the answer to that and that is what the club is probably working towards, keeping our most valuable assets happy and tied to contracts. As we’re unlikely to get into a relegation scrap it also makes sense to keep our powder dry for the summer and bank as much cash as possible whilst also giving opportunities to Oteh and maybe other youngsters. There are big decisions to be made in the summer, with the likes of Rangel, Cameron & Pugh, are they worth the money we’re currently paying them? Will Dieng, Smyth, Kakay, Hamalainen etc come into the squad or move on?
