After 32 games - this season, last season, AND the season before - we've had 39 points with a GD of -9.

Yes, as has been poined out before, but this backs it up, we haven't improved our results by changing the manager continually. I just hope this time we can resist the urge to change again. I think the football has been better this season, even if the results haven't. Would definitely like Mark Warburton to have another season!

We haven't improved our results but we have annihilated our wage bill and outgoings.

Spot on Davie, we're doing the same with less and looking a lot better.

and we have more players who may turn a reasonable profit rather than ones that had less sell on value and a big drain in terms of wages... which is nice

Exactly this. So this is progress because we can start building on our current position, rather than still over spending ourselves into oblivion. What is a Derby, Reading, Birmingham etc going to do if they keep paying out huge wages but still don't go up.

Exactly. In context, the on-the-field results are a progress.

Now if some fans can understand the difference between absolute and relative results, they might find themselves feeling a bit more positive.

Edited to add - great stat find OP!
