| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR 21:10 - Oct 27 with 8988 views | Lblock | It’ll appall many of you oh so positive types and no doubt be deemed “disgraceful” by the football geniuses on here but…… just when do you ask questions? Six wins from TWENTY EIGHT league games maybe? In his defence this place has been stinking since Foney Tony walked through the door and he’s just the latest to oversee a total shit show, but it could’ve been different. We had the ideal man for the second time around but he who can do no wrong wanted to keep his job so King Warnock shown the door. Looking at Warbs Warby Warburton specifically I’m done with him - and I was massively in favour of him over Schteeve; unfortunately I didn’t realise what the full package was with him. I mistakenly thought he was part of the beginning of Bentford’s success story. As noted above it’s 6 from 28 and our sole win this season had more to do with woeful finishing by Lewis Grabban than anything else. The insistence of sticking with error prone Bar Bay and making him Captain I cannot fathom. The approach to BOS and Manning, two of our most threatening attacking players this season is massively questionable due to inconsistency and downright idiocy The rumoured fee for Bonne at the moment looks sackable on its own. It’s as if Charlton have covered Washington in tattoos, brylcreamed his hair and sold him back to us for £2mill The rest of the transfer dealings I’d question and after three windows THIS is Warburton’s squad. He knew Eze was off, Hugill going etc and the replacements being Carroll etc Just doesn’t cut it. Kane, Wallace, the aforementioned Bar Bay, Pugh and Liam Kelly hardly been anything like a success. We also have players like Amos and George Thomas with known and clear terrible injury records signed and drawing wages Out of us yet not going to give us anything……… millions wasted yet again. Four games without a goal is one thing but it’s the overall approach that really concerns me. The players look beat as soon as something goes against them; it’s as if they know there’s no coming back. Tonight I was shocked Chair got the hook and not Bonne. The one player we have who can hold the ball is removed and Bonne who had given the ball away every time he’d touched it stays on. There seems to be no spirit in the team bar Dom Ball (a rare success in my eyes) and Dykes battling and battering. Much been made of three clean sheets but there’s been a lot of luck involved in those. That aside I still feel Warby just cannot get the balance right or set a team up to have a disciplined defence and also have an attacking threat. His squad and tactics are totally disjointed. The future looks bleak in my opinion. I don’t see any players signed really blossoming despite others thinking we have rough diamonds to polish. I hope I’m wrong (again) and Warbs Warby Warrington comes out fighting, snapping and snarling whilst inspiring his team to do the same. For me it’s time for number 16 | |

Yes, and they still ended up losing £40m in their last published accounts for 2018/19 and spending on wages £225 for every £100 of turnover. Even Redknapp's Birmingham only managed £200 for every £100 of turnover. I honestly don't know how they haven't failed FFP by now or even met the Football League's profit and sustainability requirements but it seems their gamble is going to pay off like Wolves a few years ago as after the start they've had and even at this early stage of the season I'll say the c*nts are going to get promoted.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.u https://www.transfermarkt.co.u https://www.transfermarkt.co.u Baldock £3.5 million 2018/19 Puscas £6.5 million 2019/20 Joao £4.86 million 2019/20 This site shows a lot of undisclosed fees as well, so I believe these are pretty accurate. They also fit with Reading's annual losses. Joao didn't play a lot last season (injured?) but has scored 5 so far in the league and 2 assists.
| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR on 10:21 - Oct 29 with 1310 views | TGRRRSSS | I kept saying and am firmly of the belief the punishment we got was based on the wealth of our owners, nobody else has got a punishment quite like ours - look at Derby and Fakes just for starters. Yes Birmingham got a deduction but it was clearly done to look tougher than it really was, why didnt they get say a £5m fine? Because they couldn't afford it(seemingly at the time) so they got a softer option but which in theory looked tougher because they could in theory have reached play offs that year - they wouldn't have. People also in here said we had the best Lawyers in business, I'd say Derby employed better, and thre Fakes are even better still. - and with the current situation FFP in unviable anyway as they've enough worry clubs get through the season as it is. Typically at QPR. | | | |

He wasn't. He was at Cologne on loan and then they decided not to take up their option on him.
| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR on 15:14 - Oct 29 with 1140 views | francisbowles | It's far too early to judge our signings. However, IMHO their progress so far. Dickie has a couple of flaws in his game, lack off pace and pulling people back by the shoulder. The first we can't do much about but he can learn, as he goes along, how to anticipate quicker and make adjustments for it and then limit the opportunities to commit the second. Other than these issues he has looked a very good defender, decent in the air and with blocks and strong on the ball. Adomah, we all know has talent but is a veteran and the question is how much can he contribute. He was a free transfer, and needed because of the BOS situation. Lucky for us he is a fan and really wanted to be here. Willock, we don't know much about but he has shown flashes of ability and flexibility in his few minutes so far. Was playing for Benfica b who play in the second level in Portugal. That will undoubtedly be nothing like the Championship so he will have to learn and adapt. Thomas. Looked bright and energetic in his few minutes so far. Injury is a concern. Dykes not really up to the pace of the Championship so far and can't get away with as much physicality as he did in Scotland. Has shown his ability in an international shirt though, which has seemingly made him an automatic choice, to the extent he came back crocked and exhausted. Good aerial ability and penalties so far but needs better service and midfield support. Has to learn to anticipate crosses better. I hope he didn't overdo it the other evening. Bonn, a raw player, a good header with his first appearance as sub but since then has missed several chances. But which Championship striker doesn't. I see him mainly as a deputy for Dykes and he has to learn how to play that lone striker role for us.. He proved at Charlton that he can score at this level but he needs feeding and to be close to the goal to do so. Carroll, impressed in his first two or three games and showed he can pick a pass. Has lost his way a bit since but probably hasn't been helped by changing our midfield around due to injuries to others, his own injury for the Birmingham game and maybe by being constantly asked to perform different roles. He was a free agent and needed to make up midfield numbers and options. With the loss of Thomas and Amos just as well he is here. Amos much underrated and was really improving before his very unfortunate injury. His loss is one of the main reasons that we have been poor since the Bournemouth game. We don't press as well or for as long into the game without him. I don't know anymore than anyone else, what we paid for Dykes, Bonn, Dickie et al. However, I feel pretty sure that fees being quoted would only be close to accurate, if they achieve targets and potential sell on percentages. So all in all I think we have made reasonable signings within our limits. We tried for others like Kiefer Moore but were outbid for his services. Apart from our limits we can't force players to sign for us. [Post edited 29 Oct 2020 15:16]

Good summary, fb. Agree with it all, and would add the following. Dickie - exciting signing, also excellent at moving the ball quickly. I wouldn't worry too much about the pace as most championship CB's don't have pace. He needs to play around that comparative weakness like many have before him. Adomah - he looks very fit to me, and still looks fast. I think he'll play a lot for us. i hope so as he's done very well so far. Willock - exciting flashes on Tuesday but very early days. Thomas - can anyone remind me of his injuries? Is he injury-prone? Dykes - I think his hold-up play may not appear graceful but it is effective. He hasn't got on the end of many chances though, and we'll have to see whether that's a structural thing and that he prefers attacking the ball - as Karl and others have speculated or whether he just needs to improve on his anticipation and movement in the box. Bonne - struggling to fit into any system we play at the moment. Early days, but that;s how I see it so far. Carroll - I really liked him in his first few games back, but not sure that playing on the left suits him and, my God, he had a poor one on Tuesday in the centre. Cheap pick-up, so not too worried, but with Amos gone he's oved from squad player to first-team regular so we need to see improvement. Amos - we miss him a lot. Not saying he was The Messiah, but we do miss him. Another one who's been labelled injury-prone despite having only one injury prior to joining us and quickly racking up 40 games. Now he's done the other cruciate, so no link to the previous injury.

Thanks Brian. Yes all good observations on your post too. As for George Thomas's injury record, I've been back through his career stats on Transfer Market and also his wiki profile and I can't find a single game missed through injury. That does seem a bit too positive, maybe the injury stats are incomplete because of 2nd team football at Leicester. However, unless someone has some further information it doesn't seem that he has had any 'long term' injuries and isn't injury prone. I think with us he pulled something in pre season and then when he did come into the side he maybe aggravated it again. Hopefully, we will not have to rush him back and he will return fully fit in the not too distant future. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
