Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 18:45 - Oct 15 with 5912 views | EllDale | To be honest I don’t explain too much from tomorrow given given current form. But it’s interesting to remember, every time that we are told that we only had half a squad during preseason, that Swindon were reputedly a lot worse off and in a parlous state at the same stage.

But they have since been supplied with sufficient investment to rebuild their squad with players with plenty of prior league experience.

It does Can only assume RS is under some kind of obligation to play them, if fit Edit: would also explain Taylor being offered a longer contract early in the season, to stop him getting pissed off [Post edited 16 Oct 2021 14:25]

Graham is our player, so that can’t be a factor. Would definitely have brought Taylor back in if he’s ready and we were sticking to the three central defenders.

Dorsett maybe, but why Graham when he's ours?

Was thinking they were both on loan How long's Graham signed up for?

Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 14:33 - Oct 16 with 5190 views | 442Dale | I know we started the season without O'Connell but with hindsight we’ve signed one CH too many as McNulty is still able to contribute and a member of the squad. Not saying it’s consciously causing problems but having 5 central defenders in a matchday squad is at least one too many. Would argue that with Keohane and White able to play there (both have for Dale) we don’t need any on the bench and that it’s now causing an issue that the manager has to solve.

Two years. If O'Connell was attracting attention and potentially on his way, signing another CH was required. He’s still here though and we have too many.

| My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds |

Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 14:40 - Oct 16 with 5097 views | HullDale | I may be alone in this, but I'd be tempted to play O'Connell in a central midfield role - he could be the type of hard tackling bar steward we need. Coleman White, Dorsett, Taylor, O'Keefe Keohane, O'Connell, Grant Cashman, Beesley, Newby

Nope, not alone. He’d definitely do a good job there and played the role at times when Bury won promotion.

Anyway, bigger issues here. Why have the alternative shorts for the home kit (note white stripe down the side, these are NOT those worn at Northampton and Bradford which were plain black to go with third kit if required) got red numbers? If anything, the third kit alternatives should have red numbers and not white as that’s what the shirts and plain white shorts for that kit have. They should cancel football. In fact they might, as it’s a EFL rule that sides should use no more than three different sets of shorts (yep, seriously) over a season and we are now up to FIVE (white home with blue stripe, maroon away, plain white third, plain black third alternatives, black with white stripe home alternatives). Collecting shorts like centre halves. Edit: we are wearing black and white stripes. Therefore the shorts were numbered the wrong way round and it’s why we use the third kit shorts with the home shirt as they should have red numbers not white and today’s should have white not red. Makes sense. Clearly. [Post edited 16 Oct 2021 15:01]

Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 14:59 - Oct 16 with 4893 views | NorthernDale | Poor team selection, Dorsett as been poor the three games and Graham has also been dodgy, even worse is Broadbent the man is poor player and is never involved the game. Why is Taylor on the bench? RS needs to remember he is managing in the football league, rather then managing a under 21 team.

Is it 5-3-2 with Grant playing in central midfield instead of further up the pitch?

Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 15:29 - Oct 16 with 4566 views | _Windydale | I think so. Grant moving up the pitch when in attack. Swindon are going in fast in furious on the press, trying to boss the game, and It's working for them. Were give the ball away under pressure. Unfortunately, our defence clearances aren't picking out our men, they are just hoofed up the pitch.
Match Thread: Swindon vs Dale on 15:41 - Oct 16 with 4347 views | _Windydale | Noo0 Jimmy Keohane could have done better heading the ball to no-one. Just outside area, Cracking strike by them, assist was a backheel pass.

1-0 Swindon. Very good goal and has been coming. Swindon easily the better team although without really testing our keeper until the goal. 66% possession to them so far and no shots on target for us
