How long before this becomes the new normal - for league games too? Giving a massive advantage to the wealthier clubs.

Yes. It says that 14 out or 16 clubs wanted it. Was it all of the Premier sides?

An advantage for the bigger squads, but with International breaks demanding the Championship crams a recurring schedule of 7 games into the intervening 21 days, maybe it’s time to introduce it at league level too.

Helps the bigger club of the tie.
You can put out the reserves and if it goes wrong, bring on the first-teamers to salvage the game.

If it goes well the first-teamers have been rested and the reserves have been given some match practice.

In the next tie, we are the bigger club, but after that, it will help all the Prem ones. NOw it will be even harder for a smaller club to make the final, like it wasn't hard enough already!

zzzzzzzzzz
