Caerethin Pre the Chinese was the business. Also Parkway fish bar when Angelo owned it. The Windsor was great on match days too. For sheer longevity the Roma in Gorseinon is hard to beat. Townhill Roma superb now too |  |

Old shed next to Penrhos Club Nr Ystradgylais was excellent.
And there was a little shop next to the New Inn pub in Cwmtwrch, old woman used to run it (forget her name) on a coal fired range, best fish & chips ever, tight bugger used to count the chips though. |  |

The old Rossi's Chippy in the Hafod used to be spot on, the new one by Liberty is nowhere near the same quality, Roma in Townhill is tidy, but notsure of any other of quality,
Hickory's in the Melyn is ok, bit hit and miss on times though,
Brains, by Town Tyres in Port Talbot used to be very good, but not sure its open anymore, don't even know if Brain is even still with us. | |

I’m not sure if he’s packed it in or not but there was a fantastic chippy at the top of Bonymaen . A red haired boy had it about 5 years ago - he’d bought it with his redundancy money and in fairness he nailed it. He got good potatoes all year round so he didn’t get a drop in standards. Very nice fish and chips indeed | |

Giovanni had his Chip shop next to my family's butcher shop, I can still smell the potatoes from being an infant it he late 60's. I saw one of his daughter's a while ago in Maesteg and he was still going. I was living in Ystalyfera (well in to hi 90's).
I did like the chips in the other chippy in Clydach back then, which is now an Indian takeaway. I used to sneak passed Giovanni's with the chips as I felt I had been a little unfaithful. |  |

Opals Neath, Weekes in Skewen for the Hake. Been to Mumbles Copperfish lately where the standard was up there with the best, next time small fish awfull green chips. Special mention also to the Roma in Gorseinon which used to be awesome. |  | | |
