Not sad at all. If Potter wanted to stain his CV for good by going to that festering pile of filth that’s his problem. But on the flip side what a great job he is doing and that of Tom Bola with his squad building. Spend £600million and not think about some bloke who can stick the ball in the net on a regular basis. Post match phone-ins are all the better for the squealing of the North Battersea SS about what a mess their lot are.

What was that stat I heard, something along the lines that Chelsea spent more in this January transfer window than Brentford have spent since their formation. Oh, and that includes the small matter of a new ground and all that goes with it.

You do wonder sometimes. Football sometimes seems to reward failure rather than success. Think how much Steve Bruce must have got from getting the sack so often. And Sam Allardyce.

And our current manager did pretty well from going to Villa as a coach knowing the chances were he'd get the sack pretty soon afterwards.

Agree, but unless all the clubs agree to shorten the length of contracts offered, its not going to happen is it?

IF one club goes out on a limb and tries to hire their next manager on a short term deal, the list of interested candidates is going to be very short indeed!

I am okay with them progressing all the way to the final as long as they lose.
This way, Potter will keep his job as they tumble down the league.

At the end of it, Potter will have stayed to complete their failure after spunking all that money away, and they will sack him anyway, just as he could probably buy a striker and turn it around in the summer. They won't wait, and he will be gone. very silly and quite funny :)

Then the new person will come in and mess it all up again, I am hoping. Then at that point, the Yanks will stop spending the money as they are not in Champs league, have zero trophies and have an over-expensive squad. They will try and squeeze the asset and flog off all the squad, and it will be the lower earners as that's all they can shift. At which point as we know the Mercs won't give a damn and it only gets worse.
