One Game at a Time. Pasoti preview 17:02 - Aug 22 with 5718 viewspafcprogs

Greetings all

I write the pre and post match previews and reviews on Pasoti

As I have said before it is an unashamedly green tinted view of the fixture, the history and the opposition.....

I'd agree with your leader writers take on the fixture as being one of the more enjoyable rivalries over the years....also for us one of the closest....I know...

Having saved us from relegation last season courtesy of Asmir's generous cross spill and Adomahs lightning reflex it's a bit early to think about six pointers, but there you go....

It would be nice for WRPA to get a win on the board if only to stop the narrative that we were insane to appoint him. On the other hand we have kind of painted ourselves into a corner if we do keep losing, or at least not winning ( and no, the Carabao Cup against Cheltenham doesn't count)

Anyhoo...here it is....have a great season ( two exceptions obviously)

Thank you, lots of amusing lines.

Particularly liked the jibes at Dykes and this:

Scoring goals was an issue, with their leading marksmen being putative fugitive from the Belgian Courts Ilias “Electric” Chair, and long-term fugitive from trapping and close control drills, Lyndon Dykes, who between them managed five less than Morgan.

We seemed to have signed a new player called Sorenson! Not only that but he's now injured according to this piece.

Always liked Plymouth.

Uniqueness of name, kit, and location always appealed to me. Plus giving us Buzsaky.

Good luck for the season (except against us) you janner.

I also enjoyed:

"The loss of Chair to a back problem, presumably from carrying the team for a season and a half and counting,"

At the next press conference, ask him about this signing, as it has been reported on opposition websites.

When they say they no nothing about this, point out that this will be an ongoing challenge without complete information.

Then they will ask what you mean by that. Provide examples. They will bun it off.
Keep repeating this at every press conference until they get the message that it's more hassle than it's worth and start being more reasonable.

You know, only asking for a friend like :P

zzzzzzzzzz

Pretty sure that one went the other way around

That said he did a job for us when he came back after injuries and rewrite his correct to help in the clubs survival. By and large he has a decent rep amongst the fans although if we had actually paid the theee quarters of a million Quoted that might have changed

Took a decent pen as well.

Yeh, other way around, but another one I thought was going to be brilliant.

I was thinking on that transfer rumours thread I remember the summer where we'd finished brilliantly under Gregory to stay up, got Lee Camp permanently, spent money on Walton, got Mancienne back, added Ben Sahar, Danny Nardiello... (John Curtis)... and the optimism we all had.

Lol.

We did the 12hr drive to Plymouth and back last weekend to pick up our new Puppy 🐶 and didn't realise how nice Torpoint was. Love Cornwall and always like it when we are in the same league as the Pilgrims. Hope you stay up again, but give us all the points this season.

Thanks again for the White Pele, he was special.

John Curtis.

In the sea of shite we had through the club around then he really sticks in the mind. Mainly because he’d played a decent amount of games for Man Utd, was mind blowing how crap he was

White Pele was indeed special, but Starmer and Cooper will have you in old chokey for that kind of talk.

Cheers for that, enjoyed it, particularly your description of the madness that can possess Jack Colback on an uncomfortably frequent number of occasions. Best of luck for the season except against us.

Nice piece pafcprogs.

I was at that match in 1973. It came after we had beaten Sheffield Wednesday 8-2 in the previous round.

I have to admit to leaving, in my disappointment, when we conceded the third. I remember nothing else from the game but, my memory is slightly cheered, to hear how well you say your guys played.

Good luck for the other 42 matches.

If I had a time machine for one game it would be that one....

Two things stick out, the BBC radio commentary cnsistently called Ernie Machin, Eddie Minchin.

Also a family friend was a friend of Gordon Jago who invited him to the game as a guest. He didn't really get the etiquette of the boardroom ( not his environment) so wildly celebrated the goals.

Jago never invited him again!

Not sure of our new boy Obafemi will be playing....still hoping for a keeper today as well....

Blimey. When did Cornwall annexe Plymouth?

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?
