Chair's injury 18:22 - Nov 10 with 2475 viewsKodika

There has been a lot of criticism of our medical staff about the number of players out injured at present. What I have not seen mentioned, however, is the fact the the injury picked up by Chair during the Middlesborough game was more than likely aggravated by the fact that after treatment, he was allowed to continue until half time, before being substituted for the second half.

One cannot be certain that he made the injury worse by staying on the pitch until half time, but he was obviously in considerable pain, and the fact that he was unable to offer any protection to Santos when the two goals were scored on that side of the pitch, suggests that the decision should have been taken out of his hands.

Because we are not told anything about injuries, we don't know how much the decision made the injury worse. However, considering how many players are currently unavailable at present, I would have thought that the sensible course would have been to substitute him immediately. This seems to be another example of poor decision making by our medical team.

If he had come off it would have limited the number of changes Marti could make second half so wonder if that was a factor but you are right it looked obvious he was struggling and not sure why he stayed on the pitch

Also cost us the game as both Boro's goals came down that side when he was unable to get back and cover properly

Wrong. The First 2 Boro goals came down our left hand side before Chair got injured. Sure, he shouldn't have continued to HT. It may have aggravated the injury but making a change before HT limits you to 2 changes in the 2nd half.

There's a reason Chair is still a QPR player, and no club has come in for him.
If he was really any good, we'd have lost him at least 2 seasons ago.
He only looks good to us, because he's probably the best of a very bad lot.

I think he would have gone this summer if it wasnt for his trial.

Admittedly he’s struggled for any form this season but that’s a bit harsh .

Every opponent report I read fears Ilias as a dangerous player .

I've no idea if his injury is partly due to returning to the team before he should have, but I do know it was self inflicted. We've all beeen asking our players to make challenges, but when you have zero chance of winning the ball it was pointless!

I couldn't believe that he came back on the pitch. Either make the sub or play with ten men until half time, which is what we should have done with Paal against Sunderland(?). The few minutes that he was back on the pitch wouldn't have helped his recovery, but Ainsworth & Ramage are still praised for continuing with broken legs!
