Three and easy night – Report on 14:40 - Jan 8 by EastR
It staggers me more teams don't to this. Simple, effective, threat reduced significantly.
The key argument against that usually is that if the defending team leaves 4 up and the attacking team leaves a goalie + 4 back to defend (more than enough cover).
Then the attacking team will (should) go for a short corner, so you'd have:
Corner taker + 1 vs 2 defenders 4 attackers in the box v Goalie + 4 defenders
Then the 4 attackers will have a greater chance of getting a very good header in as there's virtually no traffic or blocking possible.
So your goalie has to be damn good in the air.

I did much the same.
Won't go back to the Crown after, got work Tuesday.
Reader, we did go back to the Crown after.
A bit like this?
What a game that was, every player put in a shift. It was the sort of performance which makes me glow with pride. Well done my/our team
