Took my kids on a stadium tour today. I can thoroughly recommend it. The guide was fantastic and it was great to see behind the scenes. Amit's private box was very impressive. Love the fact that the away dressing room isn't much better than the facilities you get at Sunday league whereas the home one is very comfortable.
Player signing at Westfield afterwards was good fun. Long wait but the players were all very friendly. My daughter made all the players bracelets with their initials on. Frey couldn't believe she'd made it for him. A great day all round and more high quality QPR brainwashing for the kids. They're in it for life!

My daughter (6 at the time) insisted on drawing her favourite player Andre Dozzell and gave him the picture after a match, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it but was very friendly!

Lovely! Nice to know that Dozzell had at least one fan.

Sounds amazing Streatham, glad you and your daughter had a great day! For all their faults as footballers, I do like our current squad as people, I can't say I see any of our players currently and think they're a bit dickhead-ish.
I've done the stadium tour just once, when we played Hull in that title winning season, long time ago now. Be interested to see how much has changed, I'll do it again one day no doubt.

I did the tour a good few years ago and my all time favourite Stan Bowles was there helping do it. It was fantastic to be able to meet him and get his autobiography signed.

I thought they swapped the dressing rooms around the first time we went back to the PL? So, that poor changing room was probably the old home one!
I'd be very surprised if that was the home dressing room in the premier league days. It was grim. No heating, poorly decorated, two urinals just on the wall in the dressing room. Interesting that players get invoiced for every shirt they give away. Apparently, Begovic gave away the most as all oppo goalies wanted his shirt due to his career in top leagues around Europe.

Yes, I imagine it's quite an intense couple of hours for the players but they were all very nice to all three of my kids. Kolli seems to have his head screwed on for such a young man and even Ashby who must know he's not really rated by most fans was very cheerful.

I'm pretty sure Asmir could run to the £200 per week for giving his shirt away, I'm struggling to find a violin to play for him, wasn't he one of the top earners last year by all accounts?

Absolutely. Not suggesting he deserves sympathy or credit just an interesting point from the tour. I guess for a youth teamer like Alfie Lloyd, giving their shirt away is a bigger deal as they're on much less money.

Yeah, if the club do the deductions from paye then they probably save on the income tax they would lose anyway, so that £200 is more like £100 after tax, if that makes sense.
I remember Zlatan moaning that Man Utd charged him for taking things out of a minibar while staying overnight for a game. What was he on, £250k p/w?!

Shows that its a generous gesture when the players DO give their shirt away to the kids
As someone said on the FB post, there is a good vibe around the club at the moment and I hope they harness this good feeling. The players looked very happy to see the fans and the queues were unbelievable.
Someone said on another post we may lose Frey, god knows where that thinking comes from because he seems to love the club and the manager appreciates him too and seems to be first choice. Your little one should have done him a unicorn bracelet
Have to say, even as a 55 year old bloke, would have loved my pic with Saito - I think he's brilliant

Did the tour pre Millwall home match last season, absolutely well worth it. Tour guide is excellent and tickets half price with a membership. If you have kids who want to meet players for autographs photos etc the players arrive roughly three and a half hours before kickoff at home. Did this last Friday with my 8 year old. All the players have time for the kids, definitely think we have a good bunch at the moment.

I done the tour with Marc Bircham as the host, It was in the evening before a game with Pompey which we won. The changing rooms are/were pretty dreadful to be honest. In the unlikely event that we get promoted the club will have to do some costly alterations to bring the ground up to Prem standard.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Bowles appeared about three and a half minutes before kick off.
I did it maybe 12 years ago when I spotted that it was Mackie doing it. The regular guides were excellent, Mackie was amazing. He stayed around all night answering questions - nothing was too much trouble. I loved it as did my young son who was around 8 at the time.
