...aint fit.

There has been some speculation about this, but I think for the 3rd game now he has come off in the 60th minute and clearly must be playing with injections.

2nd half yesterday it was really noticeable you could see in his running gait and jumping from about minute 50 on that he is carrying and putting more weight on the other leg.

Really not sure who this is benefiting. Granted yesterday his best game since returning but we can play Morrison there, and have a fully fit Cook for the last few games

No he isn’t.

He’s been a very good signing: wouldn’t be averse to another year if money is right.

Didn't say he hadn't been a good signing, which he was, but he has run his race.

If the rumours re his current salary are accurate then there is no way the club should be keeping him on. If he’s amenable to another year on significantly reduced wages, fine by me.

He’ll be disappointed to hear that.

Even though his form has dropped recently he's still a key player for us, depending on the money I'd give him another year, the diference between mid table and relegation are so small I tink we'd be mad to throw away some of the experience in this squad

I'm really resisting the complete write-off of Celar. He looked poor until the game vs Cardiff, and then afterwards seemed a different player, injury was really unfortunately timed. Massive confidence thing. Swiss league to Champ is a tough move to adapt to, and I'd like to see him given another season before we discard him as a player 'that can't step up to the Champ'.

Yeah, I mean look at those two goals. A rubbish striker doesn't score those goals. That said, Lyndon Dykes scored the odd cracker on occasion.

Agreed. It's bizarre how a couple of dodgy games post injury seems to mean he has to be written off. These days players can go on a lot longer and the guy, in my opinion, has been superb for us and I still wish we had managed to get him under Warbs that season.

New contract please, Mr ManChild, and quickly.

Yes all down to wages. Don't want another repeat of Johansen/Austin second season.

Problem is if we release Cook with Fox and Dunne likely departing we’ll have just Morrison and a man who never plays, as our centre backs.

Ok, we can bring new ones in but it’s the forward line that needs sorting out and we’re not in a financial position to do both.

Cook has been great for us. Even if his legs go next season he’d be good as a coach for any CB coming in.

We saw Cook leaving the ground, while he was still limping (but not terribly) he didn't have any crutches or strapping. Maybe two weeks off will do him good?

I'd say Cook on the whole has been relatively reliable so would probably look to keep him if the money is right. Colback on the other hand is that bit older, and while he does have the occasional good game like on Saturday, I'm not really sure he's worth another contract.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

There may well be a managerial/coaching vacancy in the summer if the other thread is correct.

Not sure if he’s done his badges but he probably should.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I'd say centre back in the championship is a bit different to central midfield and up top though isn't it. People (not you specifically nix) are talking about him like he's dead. He's 33, there's mileage in a centre back for a couple of years yet, especially one who has always relied on his reading of the game

Indeed. See also: Dunne, Richard. He came to us having not played for an entire season, due to injury.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Problem is we don't have any budget to manouevre in the front four (as Marti tends to play). I believe all of Frey Celar Kolli Smyth Madsen Morgan Vale Chair Dembele Bennie Lloyd (and I wouldn't be surprised Saito) will be under contract. And you wouldn't be expecting anyone to throw money at us for any of them.

Defence is where we have room to make signings. We need a starting right back (even if, as I fear, Ashby turns out to be perm), at least two centrebacks (which could include Cook), and I suspect they won't want to go into the season with Larkeche and Esquerdinha as our only left back options (they describe Vale on the offish as attack-minded midfielder).
