Plaid propping up the inexcusable Welsh Labour party only compounded the issue and delayed the inevitable. We are going backwards at a rate of knots. Wales is attracting 3.5% of the UK's Foreign Direct Investment projects, external, while Scotland was attracting 8.4%. You have to ask why. https://committees.parliament.uk/work/8639/promoting-wales-for-inward-investment Mr Rhydderch-Roberts said Wales as a nation could do more to improve its branding. "What are we selling here in Wales because sometimes our image is rather tarnished by 20 mile an hour speed limits for example," he said, referring to the Welsh government's controversial decision to reduce speed limits across the country. "Those kind of things... the noise in the background... prevents us from looking at the real positives." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly8qwlj3l0o

Dear me, it's far worse than a 20-mph speed limit. Do these MP's ever drive along the M4 and realise that the main road in and out of Wales with its 50 mph speed limits and gridlock for miles around Newport will deter business from moving to Wales. The idiots blame others, but it's all down to the Welsh government. Keep them poor, and they will continue to vote for Welsh labour. Wales will just have call centre and hospitality jobs in the future.

Well i am not a big fan of Starmer but he is an adult and far far better than the clown show that Johnson, Mogg and Truss delivered over 14 years. You can trace the lack of jobs to Brexit impact, and decisions made at Westminster. Telling your nearest market to get lost was plain dumb. Where are the billions owed for HS2 ? Why has Scotland got control of the Crown Estates, but not for Wales ? Same with Air Passenger Duty ? Where is the replacement money for EU funds lost from Brexit ? In truth the 20 mile limit was badly implemented but very many parts of the uk already have it up and running. Its not unique to Wales. And maybe incoming retired people are pricing locals out of first time buyer houses ?

Blame the WAG if you want but it is the global effects arising from Brexit which is the issue. Welsh people as a whole voted to end free trade with 500 million citizens when Tariff King Trump was in power. Brexiteers have no one else to blame so it has to be the WAG. [Post edited 24 Mar 22:16]

Wales least affordable part of Britain for first-time buyers on 12:35 - Mar 24 with 879 views | ReslovenSwan1 | If you want to buy a house you need to use you brain and save. I learned a long time ago about the benefits of compound interest. If I meet.anyone in their 20-30s and advise them how to get together a decent tax free lump sum. https://www.hl.co.uk/investment-services/lifetime-isa At 21-22 say. Get a life time ISA and invest it in the S and P 500. £100 per month locked up for 10 year will give you around a £30,000. Stop moaning about the WAG and give your kids or grand kids some sound advice. Smart people buy houses because the learn. Dim kids moan. We gave a lot of dim kids in Wales sadly [Post edited 24 Mar 22:15]

I'm surprised nobody has pulled you up about this topic slagging off Wales Which it is not It is fact Wales is nice enough if you have a good , well paid job on vibrant Cardiff and have a few bob on the bank If not, life in a dark valley town is pretty grim The fact kids can't seem to be able to buy a tiny cheap terrace house is bad news

The WAG is elected by the people of Wales and this is effectively none of your business. Wales is a great place but many of the youth are low aspiration and burdened by the negativity you carry and promote. The football community sing " we know what hat we are". It is almost apologetic. You can be relied upon the put the boot in I have been taught to fight not moan. Life time tax fee iSA Help to buy Good investments.. Put a little way every month and bingo. Fight not moan. £100; a month is enough. Take my advice save up and do some overtime. Alternatively moan and blame the WAG. Reform sided with Farage Trump and now Trump will not sign a free trade deal with the USA . They said it was easy . That was 8 years ago. It is further away than ever.. [Post edited 24 Mar 12:48]

I think those who never venture out of Wales see it differently from the rest of us. Wales voted for Brexit, so I am unsure why this is continuously brought up by the forum idiot. Wales is the graveyard of ambition with Welsh labour. Worse NHS Worse education No incoming investment due to poor infrastructure. But let's blame everyone else, bar those making the decisions.

You should not call people with a different perspective to you and "idiot". It is against the site rules and disrespectful. You require a wit to do this with humour. Low incoming investment is due to poor trading conditions not poor infrastructure. This was caused by Brexit and loss of tax free trading with 500m of our neighbours. Welsh labour warned the Welsh population but the voter sided with the Tory Eurosceptics who gave not delivered. They after 9 years have no where to go. Blaming the WAG will not wash. NPT steelworks had a long term strategy. Coal from Merthyr shut the furnaces 2024 jobs to go in to Ineos at Bridgend. The workers were looked after. Then the workers took a punt and lost. You see the decision was given the the people and they were easy meat. The morale of the people finding investment must have been devastating. "What is the effing point" might have been said. Absolutely! Since Thatcher helped decimate this country things have been getting worse jobs wise. Brexit, costing the Uk £37 billion a year in lost trade. where's the £350 million per week, Nigel Mirage said would be going to the NHS? Billions wasted on dodgy PPE and test and trace, £700 millions wasted on Rwanda, and of course the HS2 scheme. Truss's disastrous £30 billion budget Yes, it's about Wales, but when you look at the alternative that was in Westminster, we aren't so incompetent after all

It seems like everything the Senedd are responsible for are in a worse state than most of the UK, let's blame Brexit and not those in Cardiff Bay. I am just relieved that the more intelligent of the Welsh voting population hove woken up to the real facts. Hence why Welsh Labour are doing so badly in the polls, 25 years of Labour in Wales coming to an end and anyone who blames Brexit is not living in the real world.
