Unless I’ve missed something it says he is expected to stay on as interim manager until after the international break.

Another cheap choice, two wins and he gets the job, you couldn’t make it up.
It’s like a Carry On Film.
Carry on St. Mary’s .
Nothing against Tonda, he was doing a good, important job with the U21.
Who’s taking over them now?
I would even have had him as a no.2 with the new manager, now …….

If he is staying as interim manager until after the international break, then that probably says more about the other candidates than it does about TE. SR knew everything about TE already. This news probably says that no one else is interested unless they get paid a lot of money to come to such a badly run club.

SR must be wondering whether to take the risk of spending a lot of money on another new manager when their record has been so bad, or to take the risk of spending no money and sticking with someone who has no qualifications for the job. They've decided to defer the decision and see what happens.

OK, to put a slightly different spin on this, if they are saying TE will remain as interim manager until after the International break then perhaps SR are playing a waiting game, and if so, for who? I am just wondering if that might just be Daniel Farke from Leeds United. Would just be a typical SR oh-so-clever play to wait for Leeds to sack him rather than go through another drama like they did bickering for months with Swansea over less money than they paid for D.Downs’s left leg! If Leeds sack Farke and that’s who SR want it would be cheaper than paying Leeds compo even if they are about to pull the trigger.

Just a thought…

Genuinely can’t see Farke going straight from Leeds to Saints.

Would have been like us sacking Brent last Christmas and him going straight to Norwich.

Rare for that sort of move to happen if a manager is being forced out of a club.

I like that thought.
Daniel Farke and Eckert - both German, will get on well, a blend of experience and some new ideas.

I'm sure Farke would demand a new keeper and suggest Stephens moves on to be with his old mate Wuss...

SR have messed up lots. If they have learnt a lesson and are taking the time to get the right person in then so be it. Tonda Ekert has bought the club some time. If they appoint him then it’s a huge risk which will more than likely backfire.

We have
Charlton A
Leicester H
Millwall A

Make no mistake these a tough fixtures.

To give Tonda these games to prove himself is a big ask.

True, but if he gets six points out of that lot he would be worth persevering with. If he turns out lucky he could make a name for himself

At least they haven't given him the job until the end of the season. If he wins these fixtures, he will be some kind of genius and would deserve the role. However, I dont think he will win them, so expect a new manager after these three games. I can only assume, that they just want to know if those two wins were significant or not and want to be sure about whether to give him the job or not I suppose.

Cant help thinking that we have just got carried away with the euphoria of winning two games.
This is not going to end well.

I never understand it when some say give so and so a few more games, either you think he’s good enough or you don’t.

It doesn’t surprise me one bit that the club are thinking of keeping Tonda Eckert on after all I noticed Spors on the touch line congratulating the players as they were walking off after beating Sheffield Wednesday Saturday. With a great big smile on his face.

I’m sensing another Dragan fvck up. And Eckert will be sacked come may.

Hope I’m wrong but history dictates with these clowns.

They will give Eckert time until Xmas. If he wins another 4/7 games he'll probably get the job.

If he only wins 1 or 2 then they will turn to another German Manager. Probably Farke as he'll be available by Xmas.

I'd much rather get an experienced manager now, but the one that they want probably isn't going to come right away.

COYS - Keep Marching in.

I can't see this is building for the future.

Tonda may keep us up and he would be cheap.

But where is the ambition?

There isn't any. I think we will be a Championship club or League 1 club until SR go.

The other side of the coin is that he can get wins out of this side so give him a chance. Let's at least see what he can do.

This. They suddenly promoted this guy from nowhere because they knew he is the guy they wanted. They are appointing him subtly, as they know the fans want an experienced manager.

They like the young managers, who do as they are told by the owners, who love the young players "to bring through" aherm (make a profit on). Saints don't want an experienced guy, Rodgers, Carrick or the like telling the owners it's a load of old b@llox. They want someone who does as they are told and accepts the SR way.

The bookies have stopped taking bets on the next Saints Manager. It's clearly going to be Eckert long term I think.

I hope im wrong but , this is the next instalment of the SR soap opera .
They are taking the piss out of supporters
Its the cheap option yet again . It has not worked before and it wont work this time .
No ambition whatsoever and as long as SR are at the wheel that wont change.
An experienced man was required but yet again SR know better . It will all end in tears
again .

Looking at the Norwich shortlist of Gary O’Neil, Tomasson and Will Still it doesn’t look like there are any good candidates around. People keep going on about Gerrard and Rodgers assume they actually want the job.

Gerrard wasn’t great at Villa and Rodger’s gives me a headache just looking at him.
There are good managers out there but recently we are unable to find them.
SR bore me , I just don’t know the answer to our woes.
