Steve Cooper had never managed above youth level yet took us (admittedly tediously) to two consecutive playoff finishes. Tony Mowbray is as experienced at this level as perhaps anyone, yet barely lasted three months in his last job.
Every managerial appointment is a toss of the coin and it seems like the failure rate for both experienced and inexperienced managers is about the same.
