| Robin Smith gone on 15:04 - Dec 2 with 1376 views | PhilmyRs | Was just reading about him the other day, and sounded like he was getting help and was in a much better place from what he was a year or two earlier when he was so close to death. Makes it all the more sadder. Excellent player of quick bowling and a decent bloke by all accounts. | | | |

| Robin Smith gone on 15:37 - Dec 2 with 1295 views | derbyhoop | An RS story to lighten the gloom Facing Merv Hughes; Merv got him playing and missing at 3 consecutive balls After the 3rd Merv, in his own inimitable fashion; i.e. plenty of swearing, opined that this Pommie A***wipe couldn't f***ing bat. Needless to say the next ball Smith hit him for 4 and retorted We make a good pair; Merv. I can't f***ing bat and you can't f***ing bowl. | |

| Robin Smith gone on 16:35 - Dec 2 with 1205 views | dsw2509 | A sad loss. I remember him fielding at Lords for Hampshire against Surrey in a NatWest final. I was sitting in the Grandstand with the Surrey members. He must have saved 30 runs in the field from his anticipation and athleticism. At the end of the innings we all gave him a standing ovation. He waved back. Top man. | | | |

Used to enjoy watching Smith and Lamb piling on the middle order runs for us. Smith was amazing on the off-side from memory - drives and cuts. Sad to hear that he has passed. RIP.
| Robin Smith gone on 19:59 - Dec 2 with 912 views | flynnbo | Very aggressive and talented batter who was one of the few to take the attack to the Windies in the 1980s. Exremely competent in all facets of the game. Very sad news. RIP Judge. | | | |
| Robin Smith gone on 20:53 - Dec 2 with 827 views | paulparker | Always remember him vs curtly Ambrose and the fierce bouncers he used to face back in the early 90s Loverly player and fearless RIP the judge | |
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

| Robin Smith gone on 21:04 - Dec 2 with 799 views | Devon_4_England | Fond memories of watching Robin Smith smash everything to the boundary wherever possible. Loved watching cricket on summer holidays on TV as a kid, the one player I remember the most from that era, loved his batting style. RIP Robin | | | |

| Robin Smith gone on 11:15 - Dec 3 with 464 views | CheshireR | Such sad news. Mrs Chesh and I had the good fortune to meet him in a Melbourne bar back in 1992. We were over to watch the Cricket World Cup and had landed earlier that morning. To minimise the effects of jetlag I decided that a good drink was required. Consequently Mrs Chesh and I were not at our best by the time we saw Robin Smith. He was out with some local friends but was more than happy to share a lengthy chat and drink with us both. An evening with a lovely man, that we will never forget. | | | |

A very good friend worked with The Judge on his hospitality business and he was by all accounts a fantastic guy. He regularly had Gladstone Small as an after dinner speaker - amazingly entertaining. Who’d have thought. So sad to hear the news. Happens to way too many sportsmen after they finish what is a relatively short career.
| Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

My abiding memory of Robin Smith is of him hooking a bouncer from Curtly Ambrose for six in 1991. Not many cricketers could do that. Rest in peace.
