| Chaotic team selection, chaotic outcome as R's slip at West Brom - Report on 02:49 - Jan 1 with 395 views | dixiedean | I’m glad you saw the same game I saw . I don’t usually lose my rag after we lose - after many decades you kind of get used to losing- but everything about this shambles made me livid to the point of asking people who applauded at the end , what were they actually applauding? The fact that they managed to tie their boots up ( although even that was in doubt in some cases )? . Only Dunne takes any credit- a throwback to the days when we sang “Ryan Nelson , he plays on his own.” What annoyed me the most was the apparent feeling that it’s ok to lose this one, there’s another game in a few days. NO , THAT’S A PATHETIC MENTALITY. This was a game we should look to win, not treat as an inconvenience. How about we attack them from the off and try to score first? They’d likely have cracked. Instead we are lame as at Pompey first half and have neither desire nor ability to turn it round. A poor effort from manager and team (Dunne’s captain’s knock excepted). If some needed a rest , why not use the Leicester game to take them off eg Burrell, Madsen when 4-0 up ? As you say , if we win the next 2 games (ha ha ) all is forgiven, but it shouldn’t be. Rant over ! | | | |

Agree with all this, except I lost my rag after the Portsmouth match. Didn’t even bother to watch the WBA match as everything about it smelt of ‘can’t be arsed’, from the team selection down. The bare minimum expected after forcing fans to travel and watch that double dross is six points, but we’ll see. | | | |
| Chaotic team selection, chaotic outcome as R's slip at West Brom - Report on 10:43 - Jan 1 with 170 views | stevec | Great report and happy new year. The Northern line rant made me laugh. 293 bus runs all the way from Morden to Epsom which meant if I fell asleep on either train or bus someone at the end of the line was guaranteed to wake me from my drunken stupor. Anyway, a little tip to get through that journey, typically on the way back from central London, I used to play a game of guess which Clapham a random girl would get off the train. Balham tends to be the spanner in the works on occasions, but I got remarkably good at it and it passed the time away on what seems an endless journey. Obviously, take care, these days that might be construed as an arrestable offence. | | | |
