Santos gone 16:42 - Jan 13 with 1590 viewsliamW

Apologies I’ve been feeling sorry for my self this week with lurgy and my new job.

Should have got this on this morning.

There are certainly opportunities to leave for other players this month. Profit and sustainability is at the foremost of the Swans minds. Great sale this with everything the club gets is a profit.

Yes, but minimal according to Liam.
And pretty certain there will be all manner of things agreed to claw back outlay.

Cooper and Cotterill the other two?

Been told that the club are reluctant to sell Welsh players, not looked into it but something to do with FAW regulations, no idea what.

Thats interesting but then which players does that leave to sell, any from current matchday squad, Fulton,?
Or the loaness like Bianchinni?

Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham have joined Cardiff Met on "Work Experience" because they can't go out on loan. They apparently are not prepared to sign professional contracts and Premier League clubs are very interested, will we move them on at this point?

Without any insight on that i would say, Bianchini, Lissah, Wilson both at Falkirk. Most certainly Andy Fisher as we have an excellent keeper as back up in Evan Watts. (Welsh) He’s apparently on loan at Weymouth.

The U21 have little value on the open market and in the majority are all Welsh.

As for Jay, I’m pretty certain he will get a one year contract in or before the summer from what I hear. Not a lot to choose from but Bianchini is one we have to cut our losses on, and as stated Fisher, but finding a club who will pay what he is on at Swansea as a permanent transfer is very difficult.

Not to say Cooper, Cotterill or Parker won’t go. But there won’t be a fire sale of Welsh players.

Haven’t heard they refused, that’s interesting. Not sure where the Swans stand. They are academy products so even when both of their contracts run out there will be money involved. In fact they are up in about eight weeks.

Shame.

Maybe have a word with Iwan Morgan, he must be 20 now, currently on loan with Shrewsbury in league two, he played against Wolves in their 6-1 defeat in the FA cup. Be interesting to see how he goes for the rest of the season.

The Iwan Morgan compensation we agreed was the highest we have received for a non contact player, I think he is still only 20. The compensation we would receive for either of these players would surpass that. We will always have this problem if we are not Cat1, I know it is the intention to achieve this, but young players can't wait. I'm sure you have the contacts to confirm or deny my points.

I recall Sam Parker having the same issues with his contract. Since he signed one we haven’t seen anything from him.

Maybe these two don't see any progression into the first team at the Swans from the academy, it rarely happens.
