| Slack Jack is back 18:35 - Jan 21 with 1219 views | GRIM | Breathe easy guys. Slack Jack is back for tonight's match. But it does look as if TE has succumbed to using just 2 ctr backs. We've all been asking for that just a shame that Slack is one of them. But let's hope it works. | | | | |

You could say it's a reflection of the falling standards of our squad, but he is our best central defender. In fact, he was our best player v Pompey at St Mary's so we're really going to need him on Sunday. Harwood-Bellis probably has more long-term potential, but we really need Stephens to partner him right now. It's not a great squad. We certainly don't have the likes of Fonte and van Dijk any more. So, we have to make the best of what's available, and that's a central defensive pairing of Stephens and Harwood-Bellis, who have shown they're good enough to get us clean sheets at this level. Yep, they probably are our best two currently and sadly as you point out it's not a great standard! Stephens is poor in ariel duels and ball watches too much. THB is not great in the air defensively as well and loses concentration and blames others for his failings. They are also capable of good performances s being leaders at the back. Plenty on here that just hate on Stephens and have cemented minds...they'll never acknowledge it when he has a decent game....strange .

Agreed he did have a decent game but it doesn’t change the fact that we still seem tonhave two CB who can’t seem to defend corners aerially I really think Quarshie has potential but we really need a decent experienced CB back there

Having Ross Stewart will help us with the aerial presence at corners. Peretz does worry me at corners; you can tell he hasn't previously played in a League where there are so many crosses coming into the penalty area. Quarshie is tall, but I don't think he's that good in the air.

Regarding experience, I guess they see Stephens ticking that particular box. If we're lucky maybe the young French lad Sanda will be good in the air....wishful thinking

In what game did Quarshie show potential, did I miss this game?

Pat, Superman's good in the air, taller than Quarshie, sign him up If our Nobbie thinks he's got potential, he must be sh1te

Did Saint 22 shag your mum, dad or both of them at the same time? You seem a bit obsessive about him.

| Slack Jack is back on 21:35 - Jan 22 with 188 views | kingolaf | Couple of brain farts from him last night that could have led to goals. What was he thinking first-half firing that back pass to the keeper? Every game he’s an accident waiting to happen. | | | |
