| Walsh 21:12 - Feb 24 with 11769 views | WestbourneR | I cannot believe anybody rates this guy. He's a total embarrassment under crosses, he's too small and I'm not sure he can even jump. He is CLEARLY not a viable goalkeeper. It's a shame, as him aside, we were looking quite good. But you can't win games consistently with a bad goalkeeper - and Walsh is a bad keeper. Sadly none of our three keepers are good enough and it should have been addressed in the window. [Post edited 24 Feb 21:21]

| Walsh on 20:54 - Mar 14 by WestbourneR | I’m sorry, I’m not here to dig him out on a personal level - and it’s brilliant to hear he’s a good guy. But he needs to be a good goalkeeper first, and a good guy second. If he turns out to be a great keeper I’ll be amazed but I’ll eat my words and own my mistake. |
He's played 20 odd first team games, give him a chance. Perhaps look at Hayden, who's played 200 + games yet failed to do his job.

| Walsh on 03:59 - Mar 15 with 861 views | karlski | I will support him and hope that he develops into a really good champ keeper. There’s no jar continuing to play him for the rest of season. I do have a nagging doubt that he lacks some fundamentals (for this level) which are hard to materially improve with coaching / experience. Namely his positioning and decision making can leave a lot to be desired. Thought positioning was poor for Leicester goal and it was poor for Wrexham winner at LR and any number of other occasions. To be fair he has also had some good games and made some storm saves. He’s decent at rushing out to make blocks one on one - it’s the long distance stuff that seems to trouble him. Crosses he’s average, no worse than Nardi but I’d rate them both average at best. Will be an interesting decision end of season. | | | |

| Walsh on 07:49 - Mar 15 with 584 views | gazza1 | He would not be wanting to be beaten by a shot from that far out. It was not in the corner of the goal either. He will be dissappioted that he did not do better and obviuosly dissappionted that he did not save it. The jury is out and it has been for the whole season. | | | |
| Walsh on 07:55 - Mar 15 with 562 views | EuroRanger | I've watched it twice on the highlights now and while his reaction isn't the fastest, I think it was a pretty great finish. Many keepers would've been beaten by it. The jury might still be out on him, but he's also having to come a long way in a short time. I also think there might be some rose tinting for both Nardi and Hamer - Nardi has let in his fair share of clangers and Hamer let in one at his near post in one of his few starts. | | | |

Heya hoops, I was actually just looking at it again this morning. In mitigation, the attacker does very well to use our player as a shield. However, Walsh is taking lot of steps immediately prior to the strike, including one very last-second step to his right, so he's now probably too far right, possibly too close to his line and - most crucially - not completely composed in his set-up. If he had a better and earlier set-up, I think he could have saved that. Again, with Walsh, I don't think any of this points to a lack of ability, but maybe points to a lack of experience.

That’s interesting Bri. He certainly hasn’t been managed well by the club getting so little game time on loan. Weird given the fact Cooper has been getting all this experience. I think it’s done him a big disservice.

That was a terrible goal to concede. However I don't know why but I do feel he'll come good next year. Just a gut feeling

Interesting assessment, Brian. Could the step to the right be trying to see the ball with players in front of him maybe blocking his view. I was watching with Leicester commentary and Gerry Taggert said something like, it was a wonderful strike and that no goalkeeper would save it. They has a couple of ex players in their studio at HT and they were raving about it as well. They were all a very morose bunch apart from that. Almost made me depressed after the game, until I remembered the score. Gift and gifted were their words of the day

So there we have it As Gazza said he would have been disappointed he did not do better but there are mitigating circumstances - I personally think he should have been on loan for the first half of the season instead of being thrown straight in, with people wanting Nardi - Then brought him back in Jan with game time behind him and ready for first team appearances. The whole goalkeeping situation has been farcical this season with the chopping and changing - Not sure what direction we need to take next season but time will tell I'm sure. Thanks Brian for your goalkeeping expertise [Post edited 15 Mar 9:17]

| Walsh on 19:06 - Mar 14 by francisbowles | I thought Walsh was pretty good today and the op is way over the top. It was a great strike which he had little chance of saving and where his defenders failed to close down their best player. Even if you think differently, he was fine overall today. Walsh has had some poor games and some good games. Noury has mishandled his development and he's learning his trade in the spotlight. At this point, we need to persevere until the end of the season and reassess. |
Having seen the goal, I think it was a good strike that perhaps only more experienced better keepers would have saved. He had a decent game and even made some good catches, however, the problem is Walsh is inconsistent and makes far too many errors - not much better than the previous Joe QPR had in goal. It was a huge mistake to make him the first choice keeper for this season and not send him out on loan with Cooper. A new keeper should have been signed. Hopefully the club will do the correct thing in the summer. Cooper has done his loan, so maybe he can be tried as a number 2 for next season. [Post edited 15 Mar 9:55]
