Julien Stephan - Stick or Twist 06:57 - May 31 with 5194 viewsnumptydumpty

Appreciate there are many on here , who dont rate Stephan at all.

I think he came with a reputation of being able to develop players, especially younger ones to their full potential. And for me there have been signs of that. Vale, Mbengue, Burrell, Kone, Madsen, Smyth all have developed this season and its kind of been thought thats been down to the players as opposed to anything Stephan as first team coach has managed to instill in these boys.

I think some decisions have possibly not been of his choice too. I think the Walsh selection was more from above and I think the drop off last few games where younger and fringe squad players were given opportunities they may not have been, again, my view that wasn't his decision made.

I feel from a great majority of the fanbase, he has been given zero credit, himself also. For me, the guy deserves season two, with players he has already helped and then see where this gets us.

And basically, if we get rid, who comes in instead.

Stick for me...

He's a bit meh and I've never warmed to him but he's had a season in the championship now so hopefully he will have learnt from his many mistakes and kick on next season

There are a lot of other things that need to be changed at the club BEFORE the Head Coach.

He’s still getting used to English football and we need the continuity. Needs to be given a chance to improve.

Stick. Let’s see what he can do with (hopefully) a fitter squad.

Stick, if for no other reason than constantly changing the manager doesn't work.

The only time it's worked for us was with Warnock and he was allowed to bring in numerous players probably. With profit and sustainability rules we wouldn't be able to
do anything similar today.

So, if Julian is respected by the players, especially the 'leaders' in the dressing room, there is no need for a change.

From things that have happened since he left, it seems that Marti had lost some of that respect but we lost nearly two years of championship experience when he exited.

Stephan now has a year, we don't want to lose that and we don't need to
start all over again.

I don't think Stephane gets a whole lot of credit simply because he tends to hang back in public. The club has also spent time recently putting up player interviews etc, so the focus has been less on the management than in previous seasons.

I have no insight into the inner workings of the club but this feels positive to me. Previously, the manager shouldered the press stuff because it looked like there was a lack of certainty over what a player might say. Today, however, that looks entirely different. In-depth leaving interviews from the likes of Nardi and Cook might have been seen as a huge PR risk in the past. Long form chats with Kone, Mbengue, Madsen etc al just wouldn't have happened with the likes of, say, the Redknapp teams. Nuff said.

With that in mind, the manager now carries less of the PR load and, as such, has less focus. The players, by extension, have more visibility and get more emphasis. Both factors combine to create a quite image of the manager. Less profile means less credit.

Doesn't mean he's doing a bad job. Would you put the players out front if they were cheesed off with the management?

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Wasn’t the recent 10 page thread on this exact same subject, with the exact same title, that you contributed to repeatedly, quite enough for you?

Unfortunately, i do very often forget what i said and did yesterday, so was not aware.

Apologies Sir. Unfortunately, i am getting on a bit, and seem to have short term memory loss, regularly.

Not saying, you are wrong. Am sure you are not, but sorry me opening up a new thread offends you.

Take it down then.

I forgot about it being done recently so apologies. But dont read or comment on it, if you not interested. Its an easy solution.

As if most threads arent rehashes, anyhow, of threads that have been done a million times. Theres only a limited amount of topics you can do on a QPR forum, anyhow.

Well the club think he’s staying based on way they announced the pre season.

Would disagree that there are ‘many on here’ who don’t rate Stephan at all.
Taking all the injuries into account he’s done alright.
Needs to push on next season though and achieve a top half finish.

You're not that old, are you?

You should get yourself checked out if you genuinely think you have memory problems.

I thought the idea of the current model was changing head coach easily without disrupting the set up, but I know it's more complex than that. I like JS and the style of play is entertaining at times, but I don't think that'll produce consistency for a top half finish. Also his game management is poor sad to say.

Gently now. Numpty set this up in error. He posts a lot on here and is generally pretty reasonable and supportive of club and posters on here.

What is this some kind of character assassination

Am 60 next year so not that old no.

But i do forget a lot of things. Especially things that arent exactly my priorities in life.
I can forget things mid sentence when chatting to my partner or friends and likewise but its not dementia, if thats what you trying to imply.

Not sure what you get out of deliberately attenpting to wind up a stranger online.

Its irrelevant to me. If you got a problem with what i post, put me on ignore. I dont mind. Yes i probably post too much. Its a hobby and keeps my mind going when some days its turning to mush.

Anyhow, enjoy the rest of your day Kensalriser. Peace.

Sorry if you think it's a wind up, but I'm being serious. Under 60 is very young to be developing memory problems, but how would you know if it's dementia or not? I know I would be getting myself checked out, even if the idea of it is terrifying.

Most people around me forget things all the time. I dont forget major things

Minor things like what happened in a drama programme saw last night ora what i had for dinner yesterday or what i wrote on a thread a couple of months ago.

Occasionally mid conversation. Only once went into work and for some.weird reason couldnt even remember any of my.colleagues names for about an hour.

Nothing to worry about though, honestly all is well.

I like him, he’s made mistakes, as long as he’s learnt from them it would mean another season of a manager “bedding in”

I would suggest that you make an appointment with your doctor and see If you can get a referral and have your hearing tested, alternately go online and book it through Specsavers or Boots the chemist.
My recent loss of hearing (not total) immediately got my Doctor to arrange a scan and hearing test, the suspicion of sudden hearing loss Is a stroke.
Of course I haven't got a clue about your health but whenever I get a medical ''Issue'' I always say It's old age which It invariably Isn't.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.
