Quite looking forward to doing different things for a change, to be honest, it’s been a trial much of the last four years. My daughter has signed me up for a half marathon in November, so no excuse for not training. |  | | |

I ran a lot in my 20s and 30s, and did many 10ks and half marathons and one London back in 1996. Did a lot with my old man too.
Impressive if you do it. i guess the pressure is on if your daughter has signed you up too. My running days are behind me. Prefer a walk or a gentle swim and sauna these days.

Good luck from me too. I did a couple of Hastings half-marathons back in the 90s and one full marathon (Exeter 1983). Tried the park run thing but the last time I did our local one I knackered my knee and could barely walk for a week. Took a year to fully recover.
Like Numpty, my running days are behind me now. We’ve got a couple of free swimming sessions at the local pool for us geriatrics (‘Silver Swim’ is the euphemism they use to make us feel better). Other than that it’s walking trips with my Citeh mates or tennis, racketball etc. Oh, and ‘real tennis’ of course, but that’s another story! | | | |
