Imagine you’re a travelling fan and the cheapest route you found meant you get near the stadium just two hours before? I know that’s right but some people do for economic reasons and it’ll have been unheard of for the KO time to be brought forward by six hours. You’d be fuming. | |

Lot of England fans on a flight from Atlanta landing in the morning. With immigration and the travel to the stadium they’d not have made kick-off. Presumably there are Mexicans travelling from across the country. Typically dreadful communication from FIFA who could have made a proper announcement explaining the situation and stayed on top of it rather than random journalists leaking info they’d got from anonymous sources.
Could be a bit tasty in and outside the ground given how the Ecuador game played out and the deaths after which I suspect is the real reason they put the feelers out for moving it rather than the weather. | | | |

Obviously the schedule is agreed well beforehand and most importantly it’s prime time for the host nation(s) but Mexican authorities probably aren’t delighted about it even if they won’t dream of saying so publicly. An incredible once in a lifetime experience for England fans going but I wouldn’t be super confident in the local police’s ability/willingness to stay on top of things regardless of the result but especially if we win. | | | |
