After a good run of five wins and a draw this preseason with goals scored and youngsters blooded, the squad has done well so far. But, we still need to be active in the transfer window.
The full back areas are still a concern. We'll have to wait and see when Lamptey is fit - hopefully not too long, but do we need that second left back, or will Larcheche be brought in as cover?
The central midfield is even more of a concern, especially with Madsen out for an unspecified period. We expect to see Chair playing more centrally but this area is still lacking. Will we get Kamara, and if so, will he be fit and ready to play? But I fear we don't have enough muscle to cope.
Strikers. Who covers Kone and Burrell? Lloyd isn't up to standard. Obikwu seems to be permanently broken. And Kolli, who really should be their cover,... well enough said.
The other question is, do we have a transfer budget? Probably not much so we'll have to sell to buy. Who goes? Edwards and Varane have had rumours. Possibly Kolli? We do need to sell to buy. The alternative is to wait until the last days of August for the bargain basement sale.
Could we see three or four coming in? Probably not but there is work to be done. |  | | |  |

I think all the starters are here, so I expect we will be, as you say, rummaging through the bargain bin for back ups. We're actually not in a bad place, seemingly.
I would like to know more about Madsen and Obikwu's injuries, though.
And then there's the perennial issue with Kolli. I'm not going to pretend I'm at all itk, in fact I think it's probably 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, but it's getting boring now. The club need to see him as an asset, and he needs to look at how a couple of the lads beneath him have pushed themselves into the reckoning this preseason, and take note. |  |

The model depends upon selling high. We havent done that yet. We need a big sell. Probably Varane give. He isnt in the starting 11 right now. But if the offer for Edwards is big enogh then him

We definitely need an engine in the middle of the park with the experience to win tackles and move the ball on. A Jack Colback of yester-year. I think we also need a tall forward who is good with his feet and who can put a centre back under pressure. I think we are OK at full back with Mbengue and Kemper, with Larkeche as back up. | | | |
