Dwindling Attendences at Chelsea 13:22 - Aug 15 with 4431 views

I went past the Lillie Langtry pub in Lillie Road, Fulham, (so that's where the road name comes from), and a sign in the window said HOME FAN ONLY. Serves 'em right.

Edit - it's in east Fulham, but a Chelsea pub.

used to be my local early 80's.... same decor up until a few years ago.

It's not bad - four real ales, they say the scran is good. Loads of room with outside seating front and rear.

Was a good pub back in the day when Pat was the Guvnor. Remember the bookies over the road. Owner was the same one that had The Clarence down the road. But it’s become another gastro pub like most of them in the area.

was a great pub...
got married in '81, first flat, no barthroom, in the peabodys lillee road.
out every night, as one does, when they're free and, well, married.
plenty of pubs on our doorstep....
the lillee
prince of wales
seven stars
the oak
the elm
the clarence
halfway house
the norman
regulars in all them.
one hotel that i'm not sure still exists was one called the west centre hotel that done great afters on the first floor.
great season as well for us, fa cup final v tottenham.

There used to be one called the Atlas that I visited one just one occasion but can't remember where.

Yes, loads of pubs round that way that have closed over the years. Mick who ran the Halfway House, then took over The Seven Stars with his wife Janet. They’re over Shepherd’s Bush way now and see them every now and again when we’re at home. Halfway House closed years ago. Is now a Co-Op. The Clarence has been threatening to close for years. The Oak is gone. The Atlas is still there. Always known as the Wee House, but it’s so dear in there. The Goose is still going. The Norman became the Rylston and is now the Elephant and Barrel. The Clem Atlee is gone. The Bedford is a decent pub with locals from round the manor. The Captain Cook was The Wilton back in the day. That was a pub! Few pubs still hanging on. New Spoons by Fulham Broadway which isn’t too bad for a Spoons. In the old tube station. You say it’s a Chelsea area, which to be honest it isn’t really. Yes, they all come in on match days, but normally it’s a mix of everything to be honest. All the Chelsea lot come up from places like Kent and Surrey!

It was and still is - I was in there about a year ago. It's a gastro pub and part of the same group of pubs as the Swan on Acton Lane and the Dartmouth Castle round the back of Hammersmith H&C.

I went to school at the bottom of that road (Seagrave) and there was a private gated estate there. Randomly the "blink-and-youve-missed-them" boyband Bros lived there for a bit. The well-heeled residents didn't appreciate the hordes of teenage girls hanging around trying to get an autograph quite as much as the terminally horny 15yr old me did.

Edit - a *friend* told me Chel*** wanted £135 for a family ticket yesterday.
