Another one of those players that hasn't had a solid, consistent run in the team, in the same position, be it through injury, bereavement, or being out of favour, or only playing 20 minutes from the bench.
There's clearly a talented player there, and we've seen glimpses of it, but as someone mentioned, firstly is he an 'out and out winger', an 'inside forward' a 'number 10' or what? and maybe even more importantly, secondly does he 'fit' into whatever system we're planning on playing?
I fear that he's going to become the next player in line that was actually a good signing in terms of age, price, ability, potential etc., but will be shipped out branded a failure because we never actually used them correctly.
Which in itself possibly raises a bigger question of whether we as a club buy the 'player' or buy for the 'position'? |  |

Put yourself in Borysiuk, Yeni and Sylla's position (and Pav's too...). I bet all of them want to feel wanted and to feel part of the club. They were probably told when they joined that they would be an integral part of the team. If they were, I think we'd be a much better team because of this.
OK, they need settling in time, but more than anything they need to be playing in a settled role in a settled team. Neither JFH nor Ollie has given any of them this opportunity. Just my opinion, but I think that all three (four) should be good enough to be first choice in their positions, but Ollie especially doesn't seem to think so. Yeni wide right, Sylla through the middle, Pav wide left and the Little Mermaid in the middle of the park. Not many better imo...
I am hoping that this is nothing to do with the language barrier; if we're going to sign non-English speakers, then something has to be in place within the club to help them to understand what the manager wants; if not, waste of time signing non-english speakers. [Post edited 18 Jul 2017 14:29]

Agree with the vast majority of this. However I don't know what you've seen from Ariel to indicate he gets in above Freeman, Luongo, Manning, or Scowen, in the middle of the park. I like Borysiuk and want to keep him, but he doesn't start for me at the moment. | | | |

I don't think any of our strikers have much hope playing alone up top so I can't see us playing with any sort of Chery-style 'number 10'. Can't really see him doing much on the wing so is he competing with Washington to be the little man striker? |  | | |

3 - As previously said, we've got to get out of this cycle of new manager ripping the squad apart every transfer window. He hasn't had anything like a run of games, let alone a run of games in his correct position. Same with Borysiuk, Sylla, Shodipo.

Maybe you're right on Borysiuk, but from what I have seen (again, just my opinion), he's no worse than Manning or Luongo as a deep lying defensive midfielder, both of whom have played in that role at times...

I haven't thought much to Borysiuk to be honest - Freeman, Luongo and Manning all came in and made an immediate impact in the same position. However, and I always said this about Gladwin too, how can you tell so soon? He's made eight league starts for us - new country, new league, coming from Poland. And that's it, written off. QPR are still bloody terrible for this. If we are now skint we can't be affording to bring players in (even if they're free there will be a signing on fee and we're committing to a wage for the play) and then just bomb them out after eight games because we've changed manager or the fans don't like him or whatever. I'm not sure about any of the players we signed from abroad last summer yet, I'm looking forward to forming judgements in their second season, but before we've even got there we've apparently decided Borysiuk and Yeni can go.
