I run my office from home and previously had 6 staff working here.
All now working from their own homes and I'm desperately trying to think of reasons why they can't come back when this is over.
The peace and quiet and opportunity to manage your workload around your own timescale is lovely

At the other end of the spectrum we have a similar dilemma. Our office building contains some 1700+ staff. Everyone (bar the catering guys) has been working from home with great success on the whole.

They'll probably phase people coming back in maybe one or twice a week around Spring, with staggered attendance and social distancing measures in place. Even if the all-clear is given, WFH has been such a success I can see it being permanent and we WFH probably 3-4 days a week and just come in once a week for meetings etc.

Maybe you could do the same... everyone comes in on a Monday so that sets everything up for the week ahead then the other 4 days everyone WFH.

If 1700 are working from home, who are the canteen catering for?
