...following on from Metallica's post, if you're interested in physics, this is a great channel.
I found physics impenetrable at school, not helped by teachers like a certain Mr Mayo who spent literally an entire class waiting for someone to tell him what the split-infinitive was in the voice-over intro to Star Trek. At 13, I didn't even realise this was a question about grammar!
Now I am fascinated by the subject, because it reveals the world we live in is vastly different from what our Newtonian concept of it would have us believe. By the way, if you're interested in quantum physics, you won't find a better layman's guide than Carlo Rovelli. His books 'Reality is not what it seems', 'The Order of Time' and 'Seven Brief Lessons on Physics' will change the way you think about the world forever.

Carlo Rovelli is absolutely fantastic. Of those books you list 'Seven Brief Lessons on Physics' is the most accessible and fun to read. Highly recommended.
