Ilias is Back
at 23:55 21 Dec 2024

Compared to even a week ago he was a different player and much more agressive plus moved the ball on multiple times before that superb assist .
Also forced the keeper into a great save who then saved a sure goal from Paul Smyth. Did anybody see a clear replay it sure looked over the line to me.We do have goaline tech but that must have been so close

Was Prestons goal totally against the morals of the game
at 23:49 21 Dec 2024

Soft tissue issue in the sole of his foot according to Marti. There is no way Cook is going down like he was shot in that location for a soft tissue injury in his feet. It looked like a tendon snap either hamstring or the career threatening achilles but hopefully its soft issue .
You cannot possibly replace his leadership and experience but we do have cover back there at least .
Best wishes to SC

Good point its just the experience factor Frey brings knowing where to be and smell that goal chance.
Koli got punished all day without any protection and while he protested a few times it was to no avail.
Frey will fight and claw much better IMO but lacks the speed and drive of Koli .
We can finally sigh with relief there is some goals in this team thank Christ

Not only 14th in the table
at 18:09 21 Dec 2024

Well I fcuked myself again by tearing up my $100 bet on us getting into the playoffs when we were 5 points adrift .
However with strong players coming back into fitness and the younger players starting to perform we could keep moving up to the top 10 going off our second half today .
Of course we cannot afford Nardi, Dunne, Field or anyone else starting go down with injuries its been an ugly season so far with those including Steve Cook

Great detailed post here Hunterhoop thank you for the breakdown
Can you explain our recent first half performances they were pretty dire yet we seem to now have the ability to pull out draws and wins even from behind .
I really liked what I saw from Chair he looked miles away from last week and if he strikes form and Frey stays healthy we could keep moving up the table .
Gutted for Cook he was the heart of that team all season through ups and downs it was sickening to see him crumble like that.Fair play to him for walking off with assistance that was powerful image and the fans really responded

One of the only players we could not afford to lose and not just the cruel injury but giving up the goal rubs salt into the wound .Best wishes to SC its a year out at least I fear .
3 straight games including 2 at home and we play the first half sleepwalking and looking like we never played together before FFS.
2 jimmy Dunne headers (one he should have scored ) is all we have its not close to good enough.
Why keep booting the ball up to Koli its a waste of time and what a wan*er the ref is giving him zero protection
We can still salvage this but Frey needs to be on and Chair too .

We are so hard to predict right now but 2 exciting things are happening despite out threadbare squad.Once we take the lead we pull away and win which is normal for most teams except us of course.More important like last weekend falling behind would have normally meant 3 or 4 nothing loss but we fought back and drew and could have won to be fair .
I see us taking the lead here and winning with another clean sheet 2-0

Its not getting altered though despite the uproar it caused. Not even a ? added or like someone said "thoughts on Marti Leaving to fulfil his dream of PL"
There is zero chance he will get either Wolves or Southampton IMO they are both desperate to survive and their fans will demand a big name

Twine Free Kick
at 13:58 15 Dec 2024

A lot of keepers dont react when that free kick clears a jumping wall and dips down its just superb skill to be fair.
We fcuked up giving that free up in the first place and what timing with Twine waiting to come on as a sub then delivering that beauty.
Marti said when asked that Nardi saved the draw basically with that save because we were not scoring 2 goals yesterday

Good post I have the PL package and Wolves are on a lot with O Neil looking more and more frustrated by the week.
He is always going on about Officials and bad breaks his team gets as well which did not help him.
Lack of dicipline from his players was the final nail it sounds like and once he pointed the finger there they dropped the ax on him.
He will probably sit out until another PL team comes calling after this payout and it looks like he needs that time off from that stress

Twine Free Kick
at 23:58 14 Dec 2024

No complaints from me it was an excellent strike and our mobile keeper never even flinched as it flew in.Perfect time for a sub ,he just ran in ,moved the ball on top of the grass and buired it fair play where its due.
Why can we never score from a free its so frustrating and WTF is happening to our corners again its like a re infection of the disease we had before Anderson arrived

Ashby
at 23:52 14 Dec 2024

Good post ,if Marti is a master motivator how can we start almost every game this season on the back foot and only step it up after half time. I know about the 3 game week, early kick off and injuries but try and run through fire for the first 10 minutes at least .
Our 3 subs were standing for over 5 minutes ready to come on then for some bizzare reason Marti sent Paal away to warm up again or something sticking with Ashby who was looking like costing us that point .It was a long few minutes until he was finally taken off for me anyway.

Smyth,s Goal?
at 14:51 14 Dec 2024

Have to expand that a bit there colinallcard I would say excellent .
Corner for them bouncing around I think Smyth actually touched it then turned upfield.Varane booted it clear to Smyth who looked up and said " holy fcuk their keeper is wandering around in our half " so he rounded him (keeper could not touch him of course automatic red card ) and shot in into the net from just inside their half sublime really.
Just like an empty net goal in hockey only bigger ball and net. It bounced into the side of the net right in front of the delirious QPR fans pure magic moment .

Cannot count the amount of times we simply dribbled into trouble today the whole team was infected with that disease . Dickie wanted no part of Alfie though we should have exploited that more I feel .He is still learning his craft but has a lot of tools just needs a bit of help its hard to be 3 v 1 all the time

I was going to post those exact words so thank you for saving my one typing finger mart_Goblin.
We had 21% posession with 10 minutes to go that is shocking and embarrasing for Pros to be honest.
Ashby was getting roasted from minute 1 until he was taken off its a miracle he did not cost us that point .
Anderson is just too slow and what exactly is Chair offering right now he looks miles off it yet .
I wont mention our corners what a shambles FFS.
Still a great away point keeps us moving along nicely but we have to play a bit at least

England’s World Cup Qualifying Group

You could have planned on that long before this draw Snipper its business as usual for England in the qualifiers.
I will be the first to call a WC semi final at least for England and if the opressive heat does not kill them they could finally win it all.
Outdoor games in the US and Mexico in mid summer are brutal not sure about Canada but I suspect its the same.

Last night’s ref

One think nobody can question is Smyth's work rate and his pace has really helped us plus he is pretty durable despite some heavy challenges .
His crosses are below average and only for Koli risked breaking his neck that ball was never reaching Haaland (I mean Sam )to bury in the net.
I wish sometimes Dunne would whip in a cross from his angle instead or releasing Smyth and being forced wide and deep before crossing its too predictable IMO.
Smyth should cut inside dribble straight into the box and get hacked down (its happened ) or deliver a shot across the keeper it would be much more effective .
