Agree with all that Mel and we’re in a better position at Christmas than most of thought we would be. I still think we’re in a building phase and not yet ready for the playoffs. I’d take it of course but “if” we did manage to go up, we’d surely struggle and I’d be worried that we’d throw crazy money around again to try to stay up. Amit knows what he’s doing so I trust him and the board but I guess I’m still scarred from our recent attempts to return to the Prem.
Happy to retire from match thread duties with a win and a draw. Leicester game will live long in the memory and my kids are still talking about it. Highlight of our trip. Ah well, heading back home to reality on Saturday so it’ll be Come on you Rs from afar again. 😃
Once again our arrogant approach to team selection picking players that are clearly past their best or out of their depth (Cameron Green) has come back to bite us. We got what we deserved and I’m glad England restored some pride after getting pounded in the press. At least I’ll be able to mention the cricket today while I’m strolling around Surrey 😃
What a bizarre day of cricket. Stayed up to watch the first hour then woke up with an hour to play and 14 wickets had fallen. They’ll ruin test cricket if they keep serving up pitches like that.
Apparently Claygate gets taken over by Morris dancers every Boxing Day. Pub crawl and live music. I’ll don my Hoops and see if I can get on the local news bulletin. That should p!ss off all the Chelsea fans around here 😃
Yep, lovely little town in Surrey called Claygate. I’m told there’s at least one other QPR fan here so hoping to meet him while I’m here. Was tempted to pop down to Portsmouth but will be watching at a local pub called the “Hare & Hounds” 😃
One of the best things about Leicester was goals for Saito, Dembele and Kone. You could see the confidence flowing into them and they will feel better with the monkey off their back. Scoring is a confidence thing and Dembele mentioned after the match that he was feeling relieved so it was obviously on his mind. More please 😉
Cooking a 2.5kg herb fed chicken and a Beef Wellington from the “Game Larder” in Claygate. Washed down with lots of Champagne - Lanson is this years choice. 🥂 Bit unusual for us this year as Christmas in Aus is prawns, Bugs, Lobster and 35 degrees
Merry Christmas to all my fellow Rs. 🥂 About 2 degrees here in Surrey but feels like much less. Makes a nice change from 35 degrees and storms back in Brisbane 🎄🎅🍺
