Match day hospitality was already sold out for the Rs v Wrexham match on 24th January several weeks ago. You can be sure that will be Americans.
I haven't watched any of the other TV series on other clubs BUT I did like the Wrexham TV series. And the away day there in September was probably the best for the Rs this season.
Wrexham have canny, charasmatic owners with decent, experienced people advising them. If they are smart enough to get government money then good for them. We would be delighted if it was Rangers getting money to develop Loftus Road. And the Racecourse ground is the oldest surviving international stadium - I don't have a problem with it.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback - it took a huge amount of effort to organise the event but it's really worthwhile when people enjoy it.
Nearly 200 people came through the door. Michael Wale had a great time, as did Rangers fan Mark Adolph the son of Subbuteo inventor Peter Adolph and - like his Dad - an Rs fan.
There were some terrific items on sale, including a 1982 FA Cup final track suit top.
A few people have asked about the timings for the QPR History Day and Memorabilia Fair on Saturday (the stadium tours etc) so here goes;
10.30am - Public admission starts. £2 per person. £3 for a History Day badge. 11.15am - Stadium Tour number one starts. Gather at the bottom of the stairs to the Loft. 12 - Raffle draw with Michael Wale in the Forever Rs bar 12.30am - Stadium Tour number two starts. Gather at the bottom of the stairs to the Loft. 1.30am – admission closes to the public. 1.45pm – Alistair McEwan interview with Martin Percival – Alistair’s father Billy McEwan played for QPR from 1939 to 1950. Venue to be announced. 2.30pm – event closes and public depart.
There will be 7 book authors, 4 fans selling and 9 dealers at the Fair as well as the stadium tours and the Subbuteo tournament. 2 new books will be launched - Francis Peacock's book "QPR - the Venables Revolution" and a book on Loftus Road by Dave Shields "Loftus Road - Our Stadium, Our Home".
Some of the sellers will have electronic card readers but many won't so do please bring some cash with you.
I don't think he's been to Loftus Road since the pandemic. He's ok - he's put in a few appearances at the Rock n Roll Public Library. It's well worth a visit - it's been extended until 7pm on Saturday 22 March.
The QPR History Day is this coming Saturday starting at 10.30am - not Sunday
Mick Perrin produced the programme booklet in 1987. He planned to do an update and also one for away matches but they didn't happen due to him having a young family at the time.
Just over 2 weeks to go to the first QPR History Day and Memorabilia Fair on Saturday 22 March in the Forever Rs bar. Doors open at 10.30am.
Two new books will be launched - Francis Peacock's much awaited book on the Terry Venables era and the club's book on Loftus Road "Our Stadium Our Home".
There will also be mini stadium tours and a Subbuteo tournament so please put the date in your diaries. It's the international break weekend. I am delighted to say that Michael Wale will be joining us to draw the winning raffle tickets. Prizes include signed photos of Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh and Phil Parkes.
There will be nine memorabilia dealers joining us plus seven book authors with their books, including Rangers fan Mark Adolph and his book "Growing up with Subbuteo". Mark is Peter Adolph's son - the inventor of Subbuteo. Four fans will also be selling programmes, shirts, handbooks, stickers and cards.
Profits from the day will go to Extra Time, the Community Trust's initiative started in 2009 designed to help to get local residents aged over 65 together.
