I did the last 3 Ashes tests in 2017-18,and it was a brilliant month spent watching cricket, drinking and just having a great time with like minded people. The only downside for me was on the Saturdays of the Melbourne and Sydney tests when a few youngsters turned up and started singing about German bombers and no surrender. I guess they were expats who were there on their days off. Most of the genuine barmy army crowd didn’t come back for the afternoon sessions as they possibly knew what to expect. It was a bucket list event for a lot of people who I traveled with, and I still meet up with a couple of them at QPR away games when we play against their teams. Even though we lost the series 4-0,the 4th test at the MCG was one that we should’ve won but for steve bloody smith’s knock again. I’ve since travelled solo to New Zealand and India to watch England play, and I hope to go to a few other countries in the future, but I’m not sure I’d want to go back to watch another Ashes test in Oz again.Even the thought of Christmas in Melbourne wearing shorts and t-shirts doesn’t float my boat as much now that I’ve done it.But I did have a good time and met several other QPR fans out there. |

It tends to be because we play at home on the first game of the season and away on the last. The laziness of the fixture compiler doesn’t help. They put blocks of either two home or two away games throughout the season. They tend to make us play away Boxing Day and at home on New Year’s Day. |

How nice to actually hear the interview with Paul Parker on the Leicester vlog.Shame we couldn’t hear anything in the lower loft. Let’s hope they never have to have an emergency evacuation situation or they would have to come round with placards to tell everyone to leave.Fecking embarrassing. |

Maybe someone saw a clean glass and they ended up fighting over it? |

Can we finally win away on Boxing Day this year?Or will we find a way to cock it up? |

I want to get up and watch it on tv but I know what’ll happen if I do. It happened.Brook out while the kettle was boiling. And now two more wickets before I’ve even finished my tea. [Post edited 20 Dec 6:32]

I’m just watching New Zealand v West Indies at the bay oval. Its the Saturday of a test match and there’s hardly anyone there. When I went there for the England test in 2023 it was packed out. |

I actually chose row 73,which is right at the back.I think we’re closer to Stratford station than the other goal. |

I can understand people being frustrated, but if you haven’t got at least 100 points in order to buy after 1pm,you’re hardly a regular fan.I know some people couldn’t get to a phone or computer, but I reckon general sale should’ve been delayed for a bit longer to allow those with 100 points to buy them. |

I thought the 20% started with priority general sale at 5pm? |

At least we only see it occasionally.Imagine having to go there 19 times a season? |

A new ground for a lot of people. It looks like we might get another chance next season too. |

I went to a gig at the O2 last night and got the tube back to Stratford straight after.arriving about 11pm.I was a bit peckish so I looked around for a shop or takeaway open.An absolute wasteland with everything closed, even the Stratford Westfield centre. I hope that our cup game doesn’t go to penalties or there will be nothing open again. What a sh@thole. |
