Those who remember the old Dean Court but who havent been to this new version will get a shock, the ground has been turned around by 90 degrees, built in only three months in 2001 it comprises of three permanent stands and a temporary one behind one of the goals.

Saints supporters will be in the East Stand and the record for the new ground for a Bournemouth game is 9,762 against Brighton earlier in the season, although they gave the Seaguils 1,300 more tickets than us, the ground record is 10,375 for an England U19 game in 2007.

Getting There

Follow the A338 towards Bournemouth. The ground is situated on the left of the A338 in the outskirts of Bournemouth. If you keep looking up to the left as you go into Bournemouth you will eventually see the tops of the ground floodlights. At this point take the next exit off the A338 and turn left towards the ground. There is a large car park located at the ground, however please note that this costs 50p per hour, otherwise you may find yourself with a penalty ticket for your trouble. Alternatively, there is a council run car park, on the opposite side of the dual carriageway, which is handy for getting away quickly after the game.

By Train

The nearest station is Pokesdown, if you want to get off there then you will need to get a slow stopping service that takes around an hour, from Pokesdown its a 15 minute walk across the park to the ground.

Otherwise its Bournemouth Central, around 1 1/2 miles from the ground and a straight walk from the station up Holdenhurst Road heading away from the town.

Drinking Etc

Usually there are a plethora of pub options on either Christchurch Road near pokesdown station or Holdenhurst Road from Central, but given the nature of the game its hard to say what the policy will be from either the pubs or the local Police.

Its likely that the Queens just about the only pub within near distance will be home fans only as will the Cherries Bar at the stadium that normally allows in away supporters, however usually alcohol is served in the ground.

If you opt to alight at Central and have a drink in the town centre Im sure that there will be pubs open there that normally would be unnaffected by football and cater for shoppers and tourists.    

Other info.

AFC Bournemouth's press release has warned that away supporters found in home areas will be ejected, so if you have a ticket in the home end it is advisable not to wear colours or to identify yourself as a Saints supporter as you are likely to be kicked out and there will be no space in the away section to move you into there.

Bournemouth have also indicated that its likely that Saints supporters will be held in after the game for a short while to enable them to disperse their own supporters.
