We have a Premier League referee slumming it for this weekend's trip to Accrington Stanley - Mr Lee Proberts of Wiltshire. Read on for the usual TVOS preview of said official.

Every weekend, one League Two fixture is chosen to be refereed by a Select Group official. On Sunday it’s our turn to have one of these top men when Lee Probert makes the long trip up from Wiltshire to the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Mr Probert, who is in his second season on the Select Group list, will warm up for this big derby match by acting as fourth official at the relatively minor local skirmish between Everton and Liverpool on Saturday.

He has refereed twice in the Premier League this term, taking charge of West Brom v West Ham a week ago last Saturday and then popping up at Ewood Park last weekend for Blackburn v Fulham.

He also has one League Two match to his name this season, when he was in the middle at Gigg Lane when champions-elect bury defeated Morecambe 2-1.

Dale have seen Lee three times in the past, with varying outcomes.

In September 2003 he refereed our 2-1 loss at Macclesfield. Fans will remember that game, not for Chris Shuker’s goal, but for Gareth Griffiths’ comedy defending that was described as “Worst than Bambi on ice”!

He was the referee for our first ever trip to Yeovil later that season, a game that ended in a 1-0 defeat, while in November 2004 we saw him at Oxford when Dale won 1-0 thanks to Tony Gallimore’s late shot hitting the post and rebounding in off the ‘keeper’s head.
