Rickie Lambert has committed his future to Saints

Saints have announced that Rickie Lambert has signed a new 3 year deal to stay at St Mary's and its good to see that our more prominent players are confident enough in the Club to do this following on from Adam Lallana's 4 1/2 year tie in back in January.

Lambert of course is making a step up to new levels but hopefully this wont be a problem, in truth his second season wasnt as good as his first, although in his defence it would have been hard to have been better given the hight standards of that debut season, but last season he didnt fire on all systems for a lot of games yet still racked up a decent total of goals, hopefully now he feels more settled and can recapture the good form he showed in the run in,in a higher division I feel sure he can.

Three years is about the right length of time in that at 29 Lambert is no sprng chicken and this deal will take him past his 32nd birthday

In his first season with us he played as an out and out striker. Last season he played a different role, playing right across the front line and pulling out wide and dropping deep to receive the ball. Barnard or Guly played in the centre forward role last season.

Yep great to see sir Ricky of lambertshire sign a new deal ,and agree with the above in that last season he held the line up brilliantly playing others in numerous times ,and away from home he was a big player when the pressure mounted . Now let's sign a speedy foil for him and sort this league out .I LOVE the saints
