Trialist let go after scoring
Trialist let go after scoring

Trialist Danny Johnson scored the winning goal for Dale at Marine on Tuesday evening, but it wasn't enough to see him offered a contract at the club.

The former Hartlepool and Real Murcia striker had been at the club since the start of pre-season in the hope of breaking back into the professional game in England, but despite a number of run outs including one which saw him score the winner at Marine, it wasn't enough to convince John Coleman that he was worthy of a contract.

The fate of the other two trialist players (Ian Craney and Ray Putterill) remains unknown at this moment in time.
